Xerox 4150 my paper is a light shade of grey, what can it be thank you

Giacomos,

Is the paper a shade of grey with no image? or is there an image with a grey background?
If there is a image with a grey background you should try a new toner module. If that doesn't resolve the issue, clean the xerographic drum, make 10 blank copies, if the cleaning doesn't resolve the issue than install a new xerographic module.

Hope this help.

Background dark

1) Do you use not genuine toner? If it is so vacume the toner out, and replace it with genuine.
2) Check the transfer roller- clean contacts
3) Check/replace drum unit

Note:
if you are using transparent or thick paper, also is possible to have dark areas.

Paper turns gray

it is written in the Manual:

If the amount of background toner shading becomes unacceptable, the procedures described below may help to clear the condition:

* Increase the density setting. This will decrease the amount of background shading.
* Change the paper to a lighter basis weight.
* Check the printer's environment' very dry (ow humidity) conditions can increase the amount of background shading.
*Replace the toner cartridge.
*Replace the transfer roller

i hope it can help.

Regards,
sabeteh

Want a B&W copy from colored sheet of paper w/o dark background.

It's never going to be perfect (unless the background is quite light in colour), because the copier basically "sees" the coloured background as "gray", and the darker the background the more "gray" it looks. Try setting the original type to "photo" mode, and then adjusting the exposure a little lighter/darker....that's all you can basically do.

Dark background print in minolta EP2050 mach.

Replace controller/ interface board. The next step would be the regulator board. If you must keep resetting the ATDC and receive different values ( assuming that the ATDC is new) then the problem is back. What supplies/ controls the ATDC? The controller, but forgive me if I am wrong, there is a small interface board after the controller that the ATDC is plugged into.

HP 2600n gray background darkness throughout paper

Ehh, after futher reading it seems, as long as the EBT is not physically damadged, it is fine. So it all points back to the fuser. Ebay for $75 genuine HP.

But for others, just to rule out anything simple, disconnect from computer, and reset to factory defaults. Print Demo page. If still looks ugly, nothing to loose, run the service menu cleaning option, basicly heats the fuser very hot and passes a paper very slowly to catch any excess toner. I have never seen this cleaning option help but you never know. And if your print still looks like ****, you can save your beloved slow printing laser jet, replace the fuser.

Awsome instructions...
