My refidgerator & freezer stopped getting cold. It is running but no cold air on both sides. (It was making a clicking noise that was coming from the circuit board on the back of the unit) but that has stopped.

Replace the mother board. (it's the board you heard clicking) The only thing you hear running are fans. Check your model and serial number with your parts supplier, as you may be able to get the board free. (only certain models / serial numbers qualify)

Jen air jcd2289aew freezer working but almost no cold air blowing into fridge

You should not be hearing any popping noise from the refrigerator. That could indicate a defective start relay or attached wiring. Can you tell me the freezer temperature? After the refrigerator has run for a while I need you to remove the rear panel in the back of the freezer. Unplug first and quickly remove the panel and tell me what the frost pattern looks like. Reason I ask is I need to make sure that there is no Freon loss. If there is loss of Freon the evaporator will look like this in photo HERE This problem could also be a defective auto damper in fresh food compartment not allowing cold air from the freezer side. Here is a link to a Service Manual HERE Try these things and let me know what you find. I am here to help you get this refrigerator going, Thanks Sea Breeze

My refrigerator stopped getting cold, but the freezer side still works

There should be a vent with a fan between the freezer side and the fridge side. Make sure the vent is fully open and fan running ok

Cut everything off for a few minutes then turn it back on and listen for a click from the compressor relay as the compressor tries to start.
Is the compressor motor running. If no check starter/overload relay. Check to see if the condenser fan at the back underneath near the compressor is running. If no check fan.

Are the condenser coils near there warm or room temp. should be warm

Is the evaporator fan in the freezer running. It blows cold air into the fridge side through a damper in the wall between the freezer and fridge. Make sure the damper is open.

Below the evaporator fan is the evaporator coils. Remove the back cover in the freezer to observe the frost pattern. Light frost everywhere(NORMAL) or a partial pattern of ice(LOW ON FREON) or nothing(LOW FREON OR COMPRESSOR PROBLEM).

It is making a buzzing noise on freezer side that stops when u open the door but starts again when u close it

On some models of refrigerators, the evaporator fan (behind an access panel at the top of the freezer) shuts off when the door is opened. This fan may be making the buzzing sound.

You should be able to check by pushing in the door switch while holding the door open. The fan should come on; and, if the buzzing resumes, you know what is making the noise. The fan may be developing a problem. If it stops running, the cold air will not be distributed properly between the freezer and refrigerator.

KitchenAid Side by Side

if you hear a clicking like the compressor is trying to start, like a clicking on and off this sounds like it could be your start run relay trying to kick your compressor on. if this is bad it will continue to click, and your compressor won't start. unless your mechanically inclined this might be the time to call a service tech. the start run relay switch sits on the compressor behind the fridge.

Fridge not working, freezer is

First, I think it’s important to know that the Ref area has no cooling coils, it’s basically a box and the cold air in the freezer is blown over by a fan through a channel into the Ref side. This channel has a door which regulates how much cold air goes through. You probably have two control knobs in the Ref side, one controls the temp with numbers 1-9, 9 being the coldest. This temp control tells the compressor how long to run. The other control is for that little door and it may have letters A-E, E being the coldest. If you set it on E (coldest) then this will close that little door and keep most the cold air in the freezer.

Now, why is that cold air not getting up to the Ref side?
1. The little door is not open.
check your control setting. You should be able to feel air coming through the channel on the Ref side.

2. The fan in the freezer is not working.
You can hear this fan running when you open the freezer.

3. The coils on the freezer side are clogged with ice which won't let the fan circulate the air over to the Ref side.
This is a failure of the defrost system.

Refrigerator does not get cold

ou need to check to make sure the evaporator fan is working. If it is remove the freezer back to look at the evaporator to make sure it is not frozen over. If it is you have a defrost problem. when the coils on the evaporator get all frosted over air can not move over the coils for the fan to circulate the air through out the compartments so the fresh food section will get warmer while the freezer will be cold. you will need to defrost the evaporator to be able to check the treminator and the heater. to do that you will need to turn the timer thats is located in the fresh foo section usually in back of the thermostat. there may be a removable plug to expose the dial to turn it manually. use a flat blade screw drier to do that. it will only turn one way. as soon as you hear a click stop. the compressor and evaporator fan should stop running. now you can check to see if the heater will come on. if not you will need a volt meter to check the terninator heater and to make sure the defrost timer is all good. you should have 120v at the heater. if you do ohm out the heater to make sure it is ok. most times if it is a defrost problem check the terminator first thats the round disk with 2 wires on it. if it is not closed the heater will not come on.check it out and you should find if there is a problem with the defrost cycle. if you turn the timer untill you hear it click again and the fan and compressor should be running. when you remove the freezer cover and you find the coils are only frosted at the top or just a verry little, you may have a leak in the sealed system and that would be why there os por cooling. you would need to call for service if that is the case. hope this help you some
