Your problem may be due to corrosion on the battery contacts inside the camera which can prevent the full power of the batteries from flowing into the camera. Try this free fix before you do anything else: remove the batteries and wipe the camera contacts firmly with a dry cloth (heavy corrosion may require cleaning with a wire brush, steel wool, or sandpaper). Remove any residue that may have fallen into the battery compartment during cleaning, then wipe both ends of the batteries and place them back in the camera. This cleaning clears the problem about 90% of the time. If it doesn't work for you, the camera may have a problem that requires professional repair.

Handycam not holding charge even with new battery.

Sometimes the batteries will build up a memory if they are only used for short periods of time and never used to the point of going completely dead, so possibly getting a new battery online. B&H photo is a pretty good site.
I know some chargers have an output to the cameras battery connector that powers the camera, and if that is plugged into the charger it will not charge the battery simultaneously.
If the camera is working when plugged into the power source it usually turns out to be a battery problem. Sadly the only choice it to buy a new battery.

I need a new battery for this camera but shops dont have them could you tell me the price of new one and where to get one would you be able to send one if i send a postal order to you

FixYa do not supply any physical products, sorry. All FixYa supplies is information, so hold onto your postal order for the moment and read on....

In this instance I can assist you by advising you that your camera takes the Fuji NP120 / Pentax DL17 battery / Kyocera-Contax BP1500s.

You can get them from many suppliers such as this one in the UK and this one in the USA.

I hope that you have found my answer to be of assistance and that you soon obtain a new battery and get your camera working again. Please take a moment to rate my answer.

Battery won't charge, the charger blinks red and the camera lens won't extend

I contacted the manufacturer and they immediately sent out a new lithium battery. I received the new battery in 3 days, charged it, and the camera now works like new.

Camera wont turn on batteries are new

I had the same problem that the green light turned on then the red one, even though the camera batteries where new.

I found a solution for this problem, hope it works for all as it did for me.

The link shows the images of the steps you need to follow to fix this problem.
This problem actually is from low batteries or low voltage in the camera, but its not because the batteries are dead, it is because the batteries don't have a good contact with the metal conductors in the camera.

In the images you can see that the camera has a plastic cover for the battery contacts, so the way to fix it is to remove that plastic cover with a small screwdriver, and pop in the new batteries.

With that it should fix the problem. Hope it works.

Battery Dont Charge

jpierre's solution (in another thread) was right on the money. Touch the positive (+)end of the 9v battery to the positive (+) end of the camera battery.Leave them touching for a few seconds (10 seconds should be more thansufficient). Seems these lithium-ion batteries are subject to a'digital memory.' Subjecting it to a volt surge almost three timeshigher seems to clear it.

In short, it works like a charm.
