I have an ATI Mobility Radeon x300 in my Dell Inspiron 9300. I get no video on my lcd, but do get it on an external monitor. I know this isnt a screen problem because i have already replaced the screen multiple times, each time with the same result. Does anyone know how to fix this? Or do i need a new graphics card?

If you are having problems with your video card

the drivers might not be installed correctly you might have to uninstall the graphics card restart your computer then reinstall the graphics card and its drivers

If your computer came with a motherboard disc the drivers could be on it

Click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll to display adapters + to expand you might see a yellow question mark ? or exclamation mark ! or a red x right click select reinstall drivers or

you might need to download one

Can my Inspiron 6000 (not D) upgrade from Intel GMA 900 to ATI Mobility Radeon X300? If so, can I get the 128mb cache or do I need the 64mb cache?

The only way to upgrade the video is to replace the motherboard. The ATI solution requires a different motherboard than the Intel and has a Video Card that attaches to the motherboard.

Generally, not worth the cost nor the effort.

Dell Inspiron 9300 VGA output to 46" Sony LCD problems

Assuming that you have Audio already functional, the solution is to set your system to "Clone" rather than "Extend" video. Right click on desktop > properties > settings > click on second monitor > uncheck extend monitor box (below). Click ok, press Fn + F8 to Clone.

Viewsonic vp912b lcd display will not work.no DVI

Yes you can but there should be an option in the monitor settings for DVI... Maybe if you go into safe mode and attempt adjusting settings for the ati for the dvi output, from what I hear that monitor is nice with the DVI option would be aa shame to lose that.

Dell Inspiron 8200 ATI Mobility Radeon 9000 Green Screen Problem

Try connecting an external monitor to the laptop. After your computer is attached to an external monitor, press the <Fn> key and the <F8> (CRT, LCD) key to switch the video image to the display. If the external monitor works, the computer display or video controller may be defective.

Dell Inspiron 6000 monitor display problem

Well it is most likely a issue with the Video driver as you are able to boot to the safe mode.I would suggest going back to the safe mode and deleting the present driver for the video from the device manager.before you restart the system just download the latest version from the support.dell.com so that you can reinstall it.Also check in the graphic properties which screen is set to be the defuat.Incase still not working i would suggest reinstalling the operating system before replacing any hardware.
