I just want to increase # of rings before VM kicks in ... and I would appreciate not having to pay for the info. I have a Sanyo cordless phone CLT-9840

The KX-TGEA20 is the handset for one of several Panasonic cordless phone models, including the KX-TGE232. To change the number of rings before the answering system picks up, make sure that all of the handsets are in standby mode. Press Menu # 2 1 1 on a handset. Use the Up/Down arrows to select the desired number of rings (between 2 and 7 or toll saver). Then press the soft key for Save followed by pressing Off on the handset.

Login into your vm account and run thru the prompts and change it.

The KX-TG2313 isn't an answering machine. It will ring until you pick up, an answering machine or voicemail system picks up, or the caller hangs up.

To change the ring count, refer to the documentation for whatever answering machine or voicemail system you have on your phone line. If you require further assistance, please add a comment to this question and identify the answering machine or voicemail system.

Usually the phone will ring 5 times before going into VoiceMail (VM).
The only way of increasing this is to call the provider and they will give you a code number to increase. I had to do this with Orange 2 yrs ago as my wife could never find the phone in her hangbag in time. The other thing I did was put a LOUDER ring tune on.

Change the answer machine rings to answer number to less than the fax number of rings to answer or increase the number of rings to answer on the fax machine. Would need exact model number of phone system to give more detail on programming steps. Info should be in manuals of phone system and fax machine.

Probably a cordless right?If it is,there should be a function button on the handset.Without pressing to dial out,press or hold down the function button.If there is a directional type button,you may have to press down or keep pressing the function button to cycle through the options.Once you find the ring set,it will probably require the directional button up or down to change the number of rings.Function could also be on the base,but it's usually on the handset.You may have to play around with a couple other buttons if there is no directional button but most seem to have the directional button these days. you can not do that only your provider can assign the number of rings before going to VM...so contact them and have them do that for you....

This is a programable item in your phone.Check your user manual.If you do not have the manual find your phone on line and look up the user manual.
