Question about Samson C01U - USB Studio Condenser Microphone Consumer Microphone

Open Question

Converting A Samson USB Microphone To A Non-USB MIcrophone.

I have a Samson C01U USB condenser studio mic. I would like to convert this mic to a non usb condenser mic. I was told that it's possible to rewire the internal circuit of the above & still retain it's built-in preamp. If possible i would prefere to use the mic directly connected to my computer. Any assistance concerning the above would be most appreciated.

Try this:
Control Panel > Sound Audio Device > go to Voice Tab > check your drop down list for Voice Recording and make sure you put on Samson C01U then test your hardware and see you get any pick up. I had to research on what to do.

Now my problem is why the mic is only picking up on the left side of the ear instead of the right. =/

Welcome to the world of STUDIO microphones. Super quality BUT you must have a studio to use them. You can't have any local speaker playing into them. You often use headphones lest your monitor speakers will feedback. At the high frequency capability of these mics, you can fry your amps with oscillations above what you can hear!

the usb mic can't be used with the m box, it can be used as a source in your audio software however. When you assign your audio sources look for USB Codec in the choices. I have a USB mic and it works great

A condenser mic. requires "phantom power" usually supplied by a mixing desk. Without this, there will be no output signal from the mic.
