You need to have the memory installed and video card (unless it's on-board) for post.

I'd say the CPU is culprit. Have you got another one you can try?

Add more hard disk to my gt5404 pc

Start with the basics, Defrag your hard-drive, run disk cleanup and run your antivirus to make sure your computer is not having any virus issues. Once you have the drive cleaned up and not infected with a virus, look at the amount of memory you have installed at this point. Your pc is rated for a max amount of:2 x 1024 MB DDR2, 533 MHz, (PC4200) dual channel memory (two 512 MB DIMMs) for a max of 2 gigs. If you have maxed your memory capacity, it would help to some degree to add another hard drive. This is just basic stuff to get you going for a low cost. There are other things you can try also; like, overclocking the CPU and other things like that. Good luck.

It was just this morning when I tried to turn my pc on.. unfortunately it did not. ! when i press the power button on cpu it turns on for a few second like one or two but immediately after it drops the...

Try replacing the power supply - I had a similar problem that was fixed that way. If that doesn't work, it's probably the motherboard itself. The CPU is also possible - have you overclocked it or otherwise cooked it? Is the CPU cooler/fan blocked with fluff, or has the fan been slow (or stopped) - noisy fan is a sign of bearing stiffness/partial seizure which slows the fan and lets the CPU get too hot. If the CPU is fried, you get the symptoms you describe (MB won't start the PS)

Gateway 503gr has no power, the standby light flashes green when I remove power. Tried new PS and the standby LED stays lit. I then tried both new and old PS disconnected from board and shorted...

Disconnect everything from the motherboard except the power supply connections and cpu fan. Install one stick of RAM and connect your monitor. Then try starting up. See if you get any BIOS boot messages. This will tell you that the board and processor are okay.

With what you say you've tried already, I'm thinking you might have a bad processor. Most every other problem would result in some kind of error like POST beep codes or messages on screen. If the system still doesn't boot with the bare minimum parts installed, replace the processor.

Computer does not post. Fans & lights on.

Good day sir, as you describe your problem, as I see it you forgot to replace your Power Supply box. Swap in a new one, see if it runs. Also make sure that your RAM is good.

Gateway T-1625 Laptop won't boot up - screen blank

Yes, if the CPU/motherboard will not POST (Power On Self Test), then changing the CPU is the only thing that you have not tried.

Gateway MX6453 fan does not start until 70 degress celsius

This would be due to a faulty sensor if it does not reboot and overheat then leave it be and buy a cpu cooler that goes underneathe the unit there around 20 bucks.

Fans run at full speed under normal task.

THE PROBLEM IS THAT THE CPU AND MB AND PSU IS NOT COOLING OFF ENOUGH AND CAUSING THE FAN TO RUN ON HIGH ALL THE TIME, THE PSU MAY NOT HAVE ENOUGH WATTS POWER TO RUN THE CONFIGURATION TO KEEP THE SYSTEM AND HARDWARE TO COOL.

I READ IT IN ONE OF MY PC MAGAZINE, ANOTHER PERSON UPRADED SYSTEM, ADDED SOME OTHER STUFF BUT THE MB AND POWER SUPPLY UNIT DIDNT HAVE ENOUGH WATTS TO SUPPORT BASIC REQUIREMENTS OPERATING THE SYSTEM BASIC NEEDS.
FIND SOFTWARE THAT KEEPS EYE ON HEAT ISSUES, MB, VIDEO CARD, RAM, PS, CPU, CPU COOLERS, NIC CARDS, SOUND CARDS,
ETC.
EACH PART REQUIRES SO MUCH POWER
AND HERE HOW IT BRAKE DOWN FOR EACH COMPONET

MB 20-35+ WATTS
CD ROM 20-25 WATTS
DVD 30-45 WATTS
DISK DRIVE 5 WATTS
HD 5-15 WATTS
STANDARD VIDEO VARD 5-15 WATTS
MEMORY 5 WATTS PER MB

NEW SYSTEMS WITH THE FOLLOWING STUFF IN IT FLOPPY DRIVE,CD-ROM, MB, 16MB RAM, REQUIRES A MIN. 150 WATTS OF POWER.

BUT I KNOW YOU MAY HAVE TOP OF THE LINE VIDEO CARD WITH GGR4 WITH 512MB
MEMORY, 2-8 GIG OF RAM, 23 INCH LCD MONITOR, 2 500GB HD, BLUETOOTH AND WIRELESS NETORK, AND WIFI CAPABILITIES,
NEW DUAL CORE CPU TOP LINE MOTHERBOARD, COOLED VIDEO CARD,RAM COOLER ALSO AND THIS SYSTEM POWER WATTAGE REQUIREMENTS MAYBE SOME WHERE AROUND 400-600 WATT, AND MOST OF THAT IS FOR THE SYSTEM RAM AND THE VIDEO RAM YOU ARE RUNNING
REMEMBER 5 WATTS PER 1 MEGABYTE OF
RAM
IT WILL ADD UP FAST BOY'S AND GAL'S

ROD

PS I HOPE I DIDNT BORE ANYONE,
IT MAY SAVE YOUR SYSTEM FROM BURNING UP.

Finding a cpu cooler replacement for motherboard with screwholes.

You should be able to purchase a cooler that fits your existing cooler plate.
Replacing a cooler can sometimes be a lot of work. Sometimes you have to remove the motherboard from the case and remove the cooler plate from the underside of the motherboard. Then coolers that use "just the holes" can be used. Or another (different) cooler plate can be installed that may have came with your new cooler. In my experience, the coolers that use "just the holes" (no plate) leave a lot to be desired. Plus, if you're not careful, you can damage the motherboard by applying too much force when installing the fan. If you use a new plate, don't forget to install the insulator between the motherboard and the plate, if it comes with one.
Be careful to protect against unwanted electrostatic discharge. Always touch the metal computer case before touching any parts inside the computer. Also, if you remove the mobo, take careful note of where all the wires go before disassembly.
