My camera did exactly the same thing. I found that there was a minute trace of corrosion on one of the battery conections inside the body of the camera. After cleaning up the contacts to remove the corrosion the camera powered up without fault. It did take some time to get it right.

Its something to do with heat. This happened to me and a mate of mine fixed it. Its just the settings on the camera. I don't know how to do it, sorry, but i know it can be done
