Yery likely there are blown capacitors in both the low voltage section of the power supply and in the backlight inverter circuit. There may also be a blown fuse in the backlight inverter circuit. Unless you are tech savy and able to use a soldering iron, this repair is best left to a technician.

My picture went out but I was still able to here the audio. I unplugged my tv and plugged it back in and it worked. If this problem is similar to yours and you have not tried unplugging and replugging give it a shot.

Sanyo PLV-55WHD1 picture too dark

It may be the lamp itself, some will dim just before failing.

Average life is 2000 hours or two years for OEM lamps and much less for generic ones.

Picture has green tint

This is most likely an issue with the cabling. Check that all the cables are inserted correctly and display a picture you are familiar with. Try "wriggling" the connectors as you view the image to see if there is a poor connection.

The problem could be that one of the LCD's is dying and thus affecting the hue.

SPOT IN PICTURE

Device level repair of the blue lcd device. Not a user repair. The blue device has or is failing. Happens about 3-4000 hours of projector life. Its called color decay. Suggest replacing with a dlp brand product.

look in the projector menu ( should not be backwards) and switch the view to front projection. It might be set in rear projection. That is what my viewsonic PJ-558 projector can do sometimes

Sanyo PLV-55WM1

Hi I read your problem with the Sanyo PLV-55wm1. It sounds to me like a power supply problem. Like most new electronics devices, they use a switched mode power supply (SMPS)to supply the voltages to the rest of the set. Many of them use a current feedback loop to sense a short in the circuits that it powers. I would check for a shorted diode in the high voltage section of the tv. If any one of the components is shorted around the high voltage circuit, The current control line will be zero forcing the regulator to shut down.
