Question about Toshiba 50H72 50" Rear Projection Television

I'm having the same flickering issue with my Toshiba 50H72,

I'm having the same issue with my Toshiba 50H72, constantly flickering, like a power problem, however, it almost completely clears up when I switch the input to a HD input.
Any idea what I can do to fix it?
Is there some part that I could replace to fix this?
I don't want to buy a new set yet, if it's a minor repair.

If your set all of a sudden won't come on, e.g., the screen is blank, but the LED on the under the screen next to the on/off switch keeps flashing, then there may be an internal fault on the set that needs to be reset.
To force the reset, try this:

Unplug the set and wait a few seconds
Replug and see if the video returns

Whenever the set senses an internal fault through its monitoring circuitry, it essentially shuts down the set. The flashing LED provides the indication that a fault has been detected. Removing power to the set resets the monitoring circuitry. When plugged back in, the circuitry again does a check of the system. If it finds that there truly is a problem, then the set is shut down and the LED will again flash. In this case, you need to call a service tech. Most of the time, however, the unplug/replug routine is enough to get the set up and running.

This may sound obvious but did you check to make sure that your lamp access door is properly secured? The set will not power up if the door does not contact the micro switch. Also double check all of your internal wire connections. You may have inadvertently forgot to reconnect a cable or not fully seated one. I know I was guilty of both errors at one time or another while I was working on mine.

It will cost about $300 to fix. The Hyperboard has to be replaced. I had it repaired over 2 years ago and it works great.

Power but no picture

the Y-SUS BOARD is for picture in tv.if the picture is not coming or not proper the Y-SUS board needs replacing .but if the picture is blurry or with linings reparing helps.but in your case the tv does not turns on with y-sus board connected only error led comes on.this means y-sus board needs replacement.

I have a Toshiba 50H72. When I initally start the tv up the picture scrolls up. I have to wait for anywhere from half an hour to an hour for the picture to clear up and continually turn the tv on and of....

i am pretty sure u need to go to the menu and check your v chip or a button on the tv that starts with the letter v that will control the picture

Toshiba lcd tv flickers after being on 15 mins.

This is likely a power problem. Have the power brick checked by an electronics tech to see if it is cycling off and on over time. If the power supply is not the problem, you should consider returning it if you can.

DIgikey should have it. It is a 2Ohm 1 watt resistor.

Just finished one of these here at the shop. There is a service bulliteen from toshiba on these. There is a series of 11 16 microfad service mounted caps on a cuircit board called the hypermodule... basically the main signal processing board. that needs to be replaced. very very tricky soldering. very dificult repair. We charge about 250 in labor pluss the parts

Tv problem

Hi,
I just serviced this model, same problem as noted. I did a resolder job on the power/drive PC board. This was NOT the problem! The problem acts like an electrolytic capacitor issue or horizontal drive amp. Once I get my hands a service manual & schematics, we'll resolve it. I'll post my results AFTER Super Bowl.
