My DVD Writer/CD Writer Combo got hung on my pant leg when trying to move from my desk. Is it possible to replace the slide tray?
Yes it is repairable but best way to get it repair is get it to some professional only

O my computer is a Compaq Presaro(sr1365cl) windows xp just add the 2007 windows wen i try to brun a cd it tell me to enter a new cd but it its brand new the cd it seems not to read the cd so i have to replace a new one but which one would work best for me i know am goin to buy a new one.

The tray itself didn't break but it detached from the slot that holds it. The make and model of my desktop is Compaq Presario SR1620NX. The tray broken contains a DVD Writer/CD Writer Combo. Do you know of a specific site I could look to get an idea of the price for an replacement? Thanks for helping me I am a novice at trying to fix things pertaining to my computer.
Is the slide tray broken? It may be fixable but you're probably as well buying a new one, they're so cheap these days. ebuyer are probs the cheapest, but most online shops will be less than £20 GBP. What it the make/model of your desktop? The only thinkg you need to identify is whether the connection is IDE (wide ribbon) or SATA (small plastic socket with fairly thin wire). Do this by removing the side panel for your PC and looking at the back of the DVDRW drive. Installing a new drive is a fairly easy job, it's very hard to damage anything while doing so. You could even look at upgrading the drive as well if you want.
