The wireless driver is gone for my inspiron e 1505 after xp pro upgrade

First make sure you have 512 mB of drams. Then buy a cheap wireless from ebay for $10 with drivers. Then you can install it and get any drivers you want from internet.

O.k. This is a driver glitch. Uninstall the wireless drivers from the device manager, then reboot. The machine will find the wireless and reinstall the drivers automatically. You may need to adjust the settings, but the wireless should be back up and running

We are required to make changes at BIOS.

Have you tried to reinstall the wireless card drivers? Sometimes when the install updates you need to update your hardware drivers to keep things running smoothly.

Normally it is an issue of installing the drivers in the correct order.

Check Control Panel - System - Hardware to see if you have a wireless card listed under Network Adaptor.
Click on it to see if the driver is installed ok.
Does the laptop have a switch or function key to enable the wireless?

Yes it can. Put the disk in and choose upgrade.

You did not provide any clues about the OS and the Network (Model/Brand) installed.

Dell Inspiron 6000 did ship with Windows XP as the Default OS and Dell Wireless 1350, 1370, 1450,1390, 1490, and 1500 series Mini Card or Intel PRO Wireless 2200BG, 2915ABG Wireless LAN Mini Cards as options

First, check the Original System Configuration to find out the built specification of the Inspiron 6000.
Enter you system tag. Click on the Original System Configuration Tab. Check the factory built specification and note the Wireless Card installed from the factory. If you have not changed or upgraded the Wireless Card, download and install the drivers from the list below.
