I have a 1220c that operates perfectly except in a single situation: When I attempt to print brochures with a heavyweight paper, the printer cannot seem to pull the paper into itself on a reliable, consistant basis resulting in the printing usually beginning off the page and ending 3/4 of the way through the page. Doesn't matter if manual fed or auto. Doesn't matter if 1 page of paper or stack. Any help would be appreciated!
The 1220c does print heavy stock although if you look in the back you will see the slot where you put the heavy sheet into, sucks but thats the only way, at least to print perf card and heavy stock. hope this helps.
Try cleaning the rollers with auto belt dressing.
This 1220 C printer is designed to print on greeting card paper and heavy photo glossy paper. I have the same problem and think it is a pickup roller. I dont know how to change the roller.
Hi it would appear that the paper is too heavy for the machine check the manual as it will have the spec on what paper can be used and also how heavy the paper could be.
Sorry I cannot be anymore help but try using a paper that is about 10-20 gsm lighter.
Thanks J
These defects normally occur when printing is attempted on unsupported media or when the printer is set up for a different type of media than the media that is actually loaded into the machine.
Check your media and ensure that it is suitable for use in the printer. Refer to the printer's user manual for information on supported media types and weights. Is the media you are printing on supported in the printer?
Ensure that the paper type is set accurately on the printer operator panel (go to Menu/Paper Menu/Size-Type/Tray1/Type). Is the paper type set correctly on the printer operator panel?
Change the paper weight setting to heavy on the printer operator panel (go to Menu/Paper Menu/Size-Type/Tray1/Type/Heavy Paper/Check button). Try printing your document again. Did the error return? If the error returns, please contact Lexmark Technical Support for further assistance.

I have this problem when trying to print on HP A4 Premium plus paper (280 g/sm) but find it works ok if I kid the machine that I'm using A3 paper
In other words, I feed an A4 sheet in widthways rather than lengthways and print on "half" of the A3 format - make sure you setup to print to an edge (or small border) rather than centre the image
I cannot feed any paper heavier than 24 lb. Bond, and I can't figure out how to make the paper feed flat from the back of the printer.
My printer can only print one page at a time, then i have a flash light in order for me to continue i have to press the flashing light button, then it will continue, my printer is alway unistall itself and i alway have to reinstall. My printer also freeze my computer, so i repalced it will laptop but i am have the same problem with freezing.
Any paper heavier than 20 lb fails to feed into printer. Doesn't matter if hand fed, fed from the back...even prayer doesn't work. Also, of late the paper feed function may grab more than one sheet of paper and then proceeds to print on both sheets.
I have same problem.Trying to print on 160gm and 200gm but feeder will not take at all.Anyone managrd to solve this yet?
