Just replaced circline bulb and the new one only lights up dimly within 2 inches of where the plug goes. any advice?

To replace the two Circline Fluorescent bulbs in your torchiere floor lamp with LED bulbs, you will need to purchase LED bulbs that are compatible with the lamp's socket and have the same wattage as the original bulbs. Here are the steps to replace the bulbs:

Try another bulb first ... one that can be returned if you don't need it.

Use an 8 inch Circline T9 daylight LED and directly relamp fluorescent FC8T9 bulb without rewiring

Should be held on by 2-3 clips.

in low beams or high or both?
that is caused by:
1: bad held lamp. old lamps can go dim.
swap left and right, if dim follows bulb, bingo weak bulb or wrong type bulb. buy matching blubs (same brand and P/n)
2: bad wiring to lamp. damaged wires, or connectors to same.
4: bad combo switch. (if low beams)
5: bad fuse or holder, corrosion , to either.
head lamp fuses. there are 2. left and right.
6: hackers, many hackers put in wrong lights. inspect it.

How does the bulb look? Is it bright or kind of dim. The bulb warming error is designed to halt use of the machine until the scanner bulb reaches the correct output level. As these are basically a flourescent tube, they will dim over time and at a certain point they will not generate enough light to enable proper scanning. If the bulb is dim, it will require replacement.

you are using incandescent bulbs because most dimmer will not work with Fluorescent otherwise sound like a bad switch, if it new return it. They are fairly easy to replace. Hope this Helps Paul
