Creative Zen V Plus Bookmarks

A little known feature on this player is the ability to use bookmarks, up to 10 of them. Many of you listen to podcasts or audio books which may be fairly lengthy and if you have to stop in the middle of what ever you're listening to, normally when you go back to your player you would have to start all over again.<br /><br />A note about <span style="font-style: italic;">"resuming playback":</span> If you shutdown during playback of a podcast or audio book (not pausing or stopping playback first) your Zen will automatically resume playback when you start it back up.<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">Zen V Plus Bookmarking</span><br /><br />You can insert bookmarks during playback. A bookmark helps you mark a point within a track, so you can return to it at a later time.<br /><br />You can use up to 10 bookmarks at any one time.<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">To insert a bookmark:</span><br /> <ol> <li>In the Now Playing screen, press the Options button and select Set Bookmark .</li> <li>For ZEN V Plus, you will need to press and <span style="text-decoration: underline;">hold</span> the Options button. ZEN Xtra also supports bookmarks though you cannot place two or more bookmarks for one song or audio book<br /><br />

Suggestion: uninstall the failed portable device in Device Manager.
================================================
Note: You should already have the application for your portable device installed on your computer before continuing.
1. Go to Device Manager and make sure that your portable device is not reporting any problem. If it is, uninstall it.
2. Reconnect your portable device. The computer should detect it now.

Rebuilding Library

Corrupt DB, firmware to reolve on creative website

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.

My creative zen v plus is not detected by my pc when connected its screen has reddish lines neither it is shutting down nor it is working

Using the instructions below try Cleanup first, if that doesn't work... (if you have a backup of all your music on your computer), try the format option

This is from Creative's website:
Zen V Plus and Zen V
  1. Detach your player from the PC if it is connected, and turn off the player.
If the player stops responding, you can reset the player. To reset the player, gently
insert a thin object into the Reset hole located below the power switch.
2. Press and hold the Play button while powering on your player.
3. When the player displays the Creative logo, release the Play button.

It will display the following options:
Clean Up
Scans the player and removes invalid links from its music library.
Does not affect music files themselves.
Format (All) Caution! Erases all content!
Save a copy of your player's content before formatting.
Reload OS/ Firmware Caution! Erases your player's firmware.
DO NOT select the Reload Firmware option unless you have access to a PC and you have downloaded the necessary firmware to install.
Reboot Reboots the device.
