Question about Nintendo Wii Console

Wii will do everything but it won't play games.....

When I click on the game icon on the upper left hand side of the wii main page, my wii tries to load the game but after a couple of seconds of a black screen my wii goes back to the wii main page. No error messages, it just won't work. Has anyone else ran into this before? If so what is the fix?

This only happens sometimes with me and when using different disks. The start screen for the game appears and I click start then the screen goes black and the wiimote goes dead. I have to eject the disk and switch the wii off and on again. Generally it works the second time. I have found if I insert a disk and leave it for a while - talking a good few minutes here it seems to work fine.

  • BEAVER01 Jun 07, 2008

when i put the game in in will try to read and then a message says unable to read disk whenever the disk has nothing wrong with it. HELP MEEEE

My Wii does the same thing. I've found that doing a hard power-off (holding in the power button on the console for over 6-7 seconds) along with unplugging the system for 30 seconds will correct the problem most of the time. I would still like to know what the root cause of the problem is.

  • crackneeaka Jun 09, 2008

well i turn on the wii and put in the game and it takes about 10 seconds and says please take out the desk and turn it off and turn it on and try again. but i will never work again.

I have had 3 wii's i have tons of games but sometime between one -two years everyone one of them stops playing games. It takes almost $100 to get nintendo to recondition them. You can still get online, watch netflix or youtube but a lot of money tied up in wii games. They usually last till warranty runs out then thry are gone. I am totally ticked at Nintendo!

I had the same problem. No new games would play but the old games played fine. I clicked on the spinning disc icon (where the game should come up) and it prompted me to do an update. I accepted. Once the update was complete (took about a minute or 2) the new games worked fine.

i think it has to do with those new double layer gamess and dust getting in through the disc slot so you cant really play any games past the release of ssbb i think

Have tried games that are not working on my console at friends house & they are working fine there. So it seems problem is with console. Mine was purchased in August 2007, theirs in December 2007, one of the new batch. Seems the problem is with the console. Still waiting to heaer back from Nintendo as to what they did/didn't do with repair & what next step is.

How do you get the nitendo game cube to play on the wii

The Nintendo Wii already comes with everything needed to play GameCube. GameCube disks are loaded and unloaded from the system in the same way that Wii game disks are used. To play the games you are going to need a GameCube controller and a GameCube memory card to save progress. On the top of the system (if the system is vertical) or on the side (if it is laying down) are two flaps, one which opens to reveal the controller ports and the other reveals the slots for the memory cards. To play GameCube, simply select the top left square from the main menu (like you would for any Wii game), select start, and then use the GameCube controller to play the game.

Wii wont play downloaded games properly

Your Wii may need to be updated. On the home screen when you turn it on, click in the lower left-hand corner and go into options. On the second or third page, there should be an option to search for updates.

Hi, just wanted to know how to delete previously saved seasons and can one play an entire season playing for different teams

If you want to delete your saved game follow these steps:
1. Find the saved game by entering the Wii Options at your home screen.
2. Click on Data Management and then Save Data. You can access there your saved games.
3. Select the saved game you want to delete. You can navigate through the files by clicking the right and left arrows on the screen or by pressing the "+" and "-" buttons on the Wii remote.

4. Erase the file by clicking on the right-hand "Erase" box, and when prompted to erase the save data, select "Yes" on the bottom of the screen. The Wii will immediately delete the saved game from your Wii internal memory.

Cannot access options on the left hand side of the start screen.

Did she put the DVD in backwards? A normal DVD movie should not affect the Wii system in any way, regardless. If it's still under warrenty, I recommend you back up your save games and Miis, then ship if off to Nintendo using their Repair Order request.

Nintendo Wii

well im no expert but i can tell you what to try:

1:Go to the little wii icon on the bottom left hand side.
2:Click the option on the left.
3:Now look on the top on the screen and make sure your on the wii memory.
4:If you have too many pics/channels/memory it will cause everything else to slow down to less memory it will save your history slower and cause your problem.

Also make sure you do not have a memory card inserted in you wii because if that has little memory it could also be the reason...Hope this helped
