No picture but sound. When turning the tv on the memorex logo shows for a second. Tried to switch to dvd player and aux inputs but still the same thing. No picture, but can hear the sound.

Sound like an inverter board problem, call around see if can get a shop that can get it for you last I checked they where no longer available. Julio - Millenium TV in Las Vegas
I am going to assume that you have not already found the answer to this problem. It is actually pretty common for flat panel televisions in the winter to be too cold to turn on. What I did when faced with this problem on my 32 inch memorex was turn it on for 30 minutes while covered with a fleece blanket, than turn it off. When you turn it back on it should work...did for me!
I have one of these in my shop with same problem. Unit has sound but no backlights due to the powersupply/inverter board ( top board in metal box. The lights come on for a second and go out. Problem was originally intermittent. You can order this board from Fox Intl Part but will take a minimum of 12 weeks. Look at the lower right corner of this board and locate the dip switch of 4 positions. the bottom one is labeled " normal & burn " Try moving it to "burn" My set is in the burn position and has been running for 2 days now OK
Try to use dvd player to play video to determine where the problems goes wrong either from the video signal of the cable provider or from the TV itself.
