Question about SanDisk Sansa m250 MP3 Player

Wants me to "syncronize to continue music subscription"

I have downloaded 60 songs and now when I downloaded a new song from my subscription service and then to my m250, I get a message to "syncronize to continue music subscription". Nothing has changed. My subscription is still active. Please help.

    I have had the same problem several times now and it has the to do with the licensing of the subscription music. All I have to do is plug my mp3 back up to windows media and sync it. As long as my subscription is active, it does the rest (although, I'm not sure what that is!). This works no matter to which company you subscribe.

I have the same problem, I have tried updating the clock using rhapsody, it should work for 30 days before needing to sync. ANY IDEAS anybody. I have requested help from SANDISK.

If you got your songs from a music service, especially Rhapsody, the songs have a fixed-term DRM license on them. After a certain period of time - sometimes as little as 3 days - you have to resynchronize the songs to the music service from where you got the songs. If you let your music service subscription lapse, then the songs will not be usable until you renew your subscription. This process of resynchronizing the songs to the music service does not always go smoothly. Sometimes synchronizing through Rhapsody or another service does not resolve your issue - in this case, you will have to go through the long, tedious process of deleting the affected songs off of your player and reloading them - either through the music service or through Windows Media Player.

If you never want to deal with this problem again, the solution is to only download songs that are in mp3 format. Mp3 files do not expire once your music service subscription has expired, and they do not give you strange messages to resynchronize the files.

Have you tried this? Open up Windows Media Player. Go to the options menu, and choose privacy settings. Make sure Set Clock on Devices Automatically is checked. Then hit okay. Close Media Player. Connect your MP3 player to the computer and reopen Media Player. That SHOULD synchronize the clock automatically.

Your Windows Media Player may need to be updated and the player may need to be formatted. Please try these steps: 1) If you do not have it installed yet, please install the latest version of WMP10. 2) Download and install the quick fix from: http://download.microsoft.com/download/7/e/0/7e055e3f-6014-43bc-b6ff-6a90ced1d032/WindowsMedia10-KB902344-x86-INTL.exe 3) Format m250 device using the Sync mode in WMP. 4) To test, transfer songs to the player using the software for your subscription music service.

My sansa e250 is saying that I need to syncronize my song and won't let me play that song. what does that mean?


It means that something has changed with the authentication of the song and you need to connect it to your computer so that it can reauthorize the song. It has to do with copyright which is a whole other posting. I am assuming this is a song that you purchased off Rhapsody or a similar service. If it is a subscription service you can erase the song on your player and download it again. Just make a comment if you need more help.

some wma's or music service's subscription files are not supported by this device

use mp3 format, and you'll never go wrong

first you must format the player using msc mode then after that retransfer the songs to the player. If you are receiving this message it means that the songs on the player have expired. This is normal if you download the songs off rhapsody, napster or any online music stores and if you have ripped songs iwht copy protect music on it if you ripped them using windows media player 10.

Will eventually lose songs downloaded?


Okay, here's what i've encountered:  songs that I downloaded on rhapsody, without purchasing, only lasted about 7-10 days unless i reconnected.  once my trial period ended, i lost all the songs.  songs that i've purchased i've had no trouble (although if you load them to the sansa immediately after download, you may get the same message.  its best to wait at least 24 hours).  good luck

Do you have an account with Rhapsody? The preloaded music is part of the Rhapsody subscription service. If you dont have an account, you will receive that message until you delete the preloaded music, or subscribe to the Rhapsody Service. Best of Luck.

Can't play music


Hi there. "Syncronize to continue your music subscription" is normally an indicator of the following causes, depending on the source and type of the music that you have on your M240: (1) If your music files came from a subscription music service provider (Napster,Yahoo, Rhapsody for example): This would mean that the licenses for these subscription songs need to be updated. They must be updated at least once every 30 days. You must use your subscription music service's software to resync the songs (the process varies depending on the service). Also, you would get that "sync" notice if you've cancelled your subscription. (2) If your music files were ripped from an audio CD: The best solution would be to once again "Rip" these audio CD files using Windows Media Player, version 10 or 11. Before ripping, ensure that the "Copy Protect Music" option is unchecked by going to Windows Media Player's "Tools", then "Options", then selecting the "Rip Music" tab. If all else fails, the best "last resort" would be by setting the M240 to MSC mode and formatting it in Windows Explorer or "Disk Management" I hope this proves useful. I know it's quite a bummer when you have a whole bunch of songs just sitting in your player with a "Sync" error.
