Can my acer laptop play on my t v

Yes, but you need a few things.

1. First you need a VGA adapter on your laptop (you should have one if you have a model made within the last several years)
2. Next you need to see if there is one on your TV
3. Last, you need a VGA cable to connect the two.
4. After they are connected, you can enter the setup menu or input menu of your tv and select the VGA option to see your computer on your TV.

Note that this method WILL NOT also provide sound through the TV, just pictures. On newer models of laptops, HD connections are provided, and you could use an HD cable to connect your TV to the laptop. In this instance, sound would be able to come through the TV.

Hope this helps!

Connecting laptop to hd tv

IMake sure that you have the laptop for an VGA OUTPUT. When you toggle between the function keys. When your laptop LCD goes out it is in VGA OUT mode....when you toggle again it should be in LCD/VGA OUT (both TV and laptop should display). You need to set the TV to VGA mode as well...otherwise you might not get an output. If you still have a problem then test on a regular monitor to see if you are getting an output to the monitor

IF THIS HELPS PLEASE VOTE.....GOOD LUCK AND THANKS..

I have an acer aspire 5100 laptop i need to hook up to my tv for a presentation tomorrow. there is no s-video output on it,. how do I hook it up to my tv?

If your TV has RCA jacks on the back or front. Input type. Then you can go to radio shack and get a vga cable to RCA jack converter. That is all you can do. Is the TV a flat screen if yes then you can hook up you pc with a monitor cable like your usine now in your house. Find out the type of TV.. Ask someone to check the tv for a computer port on the back.

Trying to get my Acer Aspire 7720 blu ray player to play on my lg LCD tv. player plays fine on the laptop but not the tv. Connecting thru a VGA able for video feed. Help please

Hi there
You will need a HDMI cable, that is of course if the laptop has HDMI out and that the TV supports HDMI.
This is the only way you will be able to experience the full Blue-ray HD experience through the LCD TV.

Good luck and thanks for using Fixya!!!!

How to connect acer aspire mini laptop to digital lcd tv?

You get the audio from PC: you must use a separate audio cable to your TV audio input.
Configure your PC Display properties to a lower resolution until you reach a format your tv can display.
If you use a flat digital screen check the manual to know the resolution to be used with VGA input.
Use Dual screen option or swittch main screen/external/both using FN key + blue key showing screen on your keyboard. (F4 or F7? check manual.)

Hot to connect acer aspire mini laptop to digital lcd tv?

Press the Blue function key and toggle the screens. You can view, the Laptop, the Laptop and Screen, or just the screen.

Also you will need to flick through the channel button on the TV to get to the PC interface. Since you indicated you were using a VGA cable, this is likely the missing element.

Note: The VGA cable does not carry audio, you either had a separate audio interface to the TV or you were using RBG/Composite/S-Video/HDMI. So check to make sure you are using the correct cables.

HOW TO CONNECT SAMSUNG LCD TV TO ACER ASPIRE

Atlast I got some help from the right people (Samsung)! I would like to share it with others facing the same problem:

If you are using the D-sub 15 pin jack (VGA Monitor Cable: make sure its 15 pin and NOT 14 pins), follow these steps:
  1. Make sure your TV and computer are off.
  2. Using a 15 pin D-sub (standard) video cable, connect the Video Out jack on your computer's video card to the PC In jack on the back of your TV.
  3. Using an audio cable with a min-stereo plug on one end and two RCA jacks on the other, connect the Audio Out jack on your computer to the left and right PC Audio In jacks on your TV. (Note: If you have your computer connected to separate speakers, you can skip this step)
  4. Switch on the Notebook and Adjust the Resolution (800 x 600 pixels would do). You can go to Control Panel and Adjust the screen resolution. (Keep ‘Screen Refresh rate’ at 60hz in the Monitor Settings)
  5. Switch on the TV and try to Select the Source as 'PC' (you can do this by either pressing the 'Source' button several times on your TV remote or go to the Menu - Setup and Select the 'PC' as source there).
  6. In most cases, after following the above steps, the TV would start to show 'Auto Adjusting' message and it will start showing your Desk top on the TV. But incase it doesn't work, you can do the following:
a. Mostly the problem lies with the VGA cable. Make sure you have the right one (15 pin) and its securely attached at both ends. If you are not using the right VGA Cable, it means that there is no connection between your TV and Notebook. Your TV will show 'PC' in Grey in the Source Input list (Go to ‘Menu’ from the TV remote).
b. Both your Notebook and TV should be switched off when you are connecting the cable otherwise one of them might have a problem detecting the other one.
c. Try Pressing Fn + F5, F6, F7 (depends on which Notebook brand you are using) on your Notebook several times. At times, you will see some signs that the Notebook and TV are trying to connect. Select 'CRT' from list of displays available to you.

Connecting computer to tv

This answer is pretty late but all u need is an HDMI cable to make the connection. You can also use a projector cable to make the same connection but plugged in a diferrent port at the back or your TV. If your computer doesn't have an HDMI port u can still use the VGA(projector cable) to make the connection
