My color laser printer is only printing half of the page that is supposed to. It slowly fades out as the document reads from right to left. I think that it might have something to do with the drum cartridge but I am not sure. There are no error messages or alarms active on the machine. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
I found that everytime my mf8170 would print only half the page it was because I was printing on the wrong size paper... try checking your properties and making sure that you are printing on the same size paper as what is in the tray you are pulling from.

I have a HP Color LaserJet 2840. If I am ... My Color LaserJet 2840 will only print on the right side of the page, how can I fix this? ... If I am copying or printing from the computer, the printer will only print the right side of the page. ... something obstructing the laser scanner blocking that side of the media path.
It is more likely that the settings need to be changed on a print job to job basis in the program you are generating the content from. There are usually defaults set in the software and you need to check these settings every time you print.
The color of HP LJ 2600n fades due to following reasons
1. the color cartridge near to empty
2. due to dust on reflection mirrors inside the printer
if the color cartridges are OK, then you need help of HP technician support, because cleaning of mirrors is very technical in nature for 2600n.
Dusty Environments can lead to Laser Scanner Contamination. The dust layer on the mirrors prevents proper transmission of the laser output in the imaging system leading to faded colors on the printed page. The initial stages of this failure typically occur in the magenta or yellow color planes as faded or light color. Often the left side is more faded than the middle.
You may need to contact the nearest Authorized Service Tech and get teh Laser Scanner replaced with the new released service part that has a mirror in a location where the dust ideally cannot reach easily.
Also, please ensure that the printer is relocated from the current location to a more dust free zone.
Hope this helps, if so do rate the solution
My friend, you have a good Tech Guy. I would suggest you speak with him before you speak to the guy that sells parts for your printer.
There might be stuff that can be done with your printer if you continued to fiddle around with it in your basement or garage, but alas, this is your office (your business?) ... can you afford to mess with it any more?
Be happy, listen to your Tech Guy, cut the loss, get a new printer. You might be able to recover part of your cost if you put your printer on Craig's list, e-bay or sell it for parts elsewhere or, donate it. Did I mention Be Happy?
