The remote is saying safe mode so i can not us it what do i do. i have a 525

Normal menace it is opening in Safe mode if it is than uninstall the VGA driver from safe mode.

If it is no opening in safe mode than try to reinstall operating system

Please update remote with remote control software. Repeat the process in "safe mode" with no battery and the unit in the cradle.

update the firmware on the remote
- connect the remote to your computer and launch the software - click downloads at the top of the screen - click firmware - update the remote

Update the firmware.

1. In the software, click "Downloads"
2. Click on "Firmware."
3. Update the remote

Hi. Here is how to get your remote out of safe mode.

1. Connect your remote to the computer.
2. Launch the Harmony Remote Software, and log in.
3. Click "Downloads" at the top and click "Firmware"
4. The remote will go through the firmware update.
5. Select "Yes", and click NEXT to update the remote.

Doing a firmware upgrade is the BEST way to recover from Safe Mode. A remote may go into safe mode itself for a variety of reasons.

However, if the remote fails to communicate with the PC when it is stuck in Safe Mode, please try the following.

1. Remove the batteries from the remote & check for any stuck buttons especially the Power button that may be causing the remote to stay in this state.
2. If it still will not apply firmware to get out of safe mode, then still without batteries hold down the #2 button while plugging into USB, and it should exit Safe Mode, and say something similar to 'Firmware Upgrade Success'. Even though it says this, still perform the Firmware upgrade since it was stuck in Safe Mode to begin with.

Try putting fresh batteries in the remote and then:
1. Push and hold "Enter"
While
2. Push and hold "1"
Keep them down for about 5 sec.
Your remote is now in mode 1 and will talk to your RDR VX-525.
In the EZ Setup are you can change the unit back to remote command mode 3 if you wish. The remote will stop working again, but you just have to repeat the setps above using button "3" instead of "1".

Just remove the bateries, press number 2 and keep it pressed until you place the batteries again! worked for me and its seems to work with other users!
