The mixture of red is a combination of magenta and yellow ink or toner, if either one of these color is out of quantity or not working, chances are you will not get the right color. hope this helps.

The color-cartridge could be out of red (it seems to be mixing yellow and blue to print green).

Or, run the "head cleaning" part of the Epson software, in case there is a clog that is preventing red ink from reaching the inkjets.

All of our photos end with a magenta to purplish hue. We are using Canon inks, and followed standard trouble-shooting procedures; checked proper placement, printer alignment, deep cleaning. We are also...

Print a "test" page:

<HTML><BODY>
<FONT COLOR="#FF0000"> RED TEXT </FONT><HR>
<FONT COLOR="#00FF00"> GREEN TEXT </FONT><HR>
<FONT COLOR="#0000FF"> BLUE TEXT </FONT><HR>
<FONT COLOR="#FFFF00"> MIX RED & GREEN INK </FONT><HR>
<FONT COLOR="#FF00FF"> MIX RED & BLUE INK </FONT><HR>
<FONT COLOR="#00FFFF"> MIX GREEN & BLUE INK </FONT><HR>

</HTML>

and see if the printed colors are "true" to what you see on the computer-screen.

Printer printing with green hue

This is usually caused by one of the cartridges not feeding ink. Try re-incerting them. Hope this works. Bud

Too much green

It is unlikely that the sudden appearance of a green hue is due to the printhead or drivers going belly up. If the images on photo paper are OK when using the plain paper setting but have a severe green/blue hue when using the higher photo settings it is likely that the photocyan cartridge has been contaminated with cyan ink. Throw the contaminated PCyan cartridge away and fit a guaranteed photocyan cartridge (OEM or compat). Carry out a deep clean and run several plain papers through on a high photo setting. The green hue will gradually disappear.
