I have had to change my mainboard on my 1080p and my PS3 won't send a signal to my TV anymore. What is the problem? I have heard that I need to ypdate the firware on my PS3. Is that going to solve the problem?

I took my PS3 to my neighbor and it works fine. Also, any DVD player I hook up to my TV works just fine.

If everything works ok except the PS3 on the TV then suspect the PS#. Is there any other device you can plug into the HDMI port if thats what you are using? If they work then the issue is the PS3 and not the TV. Please take a few moments to rate my answer. Thanks..

Is it the HDMI port you are using? Then the possibility of a software upgrade to your new board might be needed. Go to the LG website and look through support to see if updates are down-loadable. If so it will show you the newest version and tell you how to check your current running version in your TV. See the problem is just because its a new replacement board doesn't mean the board was sitting around for a awhile and has the original software loaded on it. The other thing to do is call LG themselves and they should be able to let you know..

Dynex HDTV says not supported when PS3 is connected via HDMI

Have you tried changing the video output settings on the PS3? It may just be on a setting that the TV does not support. For instance, if the poutput setting is 1080P, and the TV only supports up to 1080i, you would get a "not supported" signal. Hook the ps3 to a tv that it works on...turn it on, go to settings- display settings-output settings- select HDMI as the connector type- if it asks for 3D tv size...select the size- now you need to set the resolution...select all resolutions that the TV supports, since it is a dynex...it is likely a 720p TV. So I would start by selecting only 720p, and then hook the system to the Dynex TV and see if it works now. If it works, you can go back in and attempt to select 1080i or 1080p to see if they work... but again, being a Dynex, it is probably only a 720p TV... The PS3 is likely trying to output a 1080i or 1080p signal...which that TV doesn't support.

I have a 738 - 73" and I cannot set it to 1080p (only 1080i). What is my problem?

If you are referring to the signal information displayed on the screen, it is only detailing only what the TV is receiving. By that I am referring to the signal the cable box or DVD player is sending to it. You need to make the 1080p adjustment on the HDMI device (PS3, DirecTV box, etc).

The display of the TV is by default 1080p all the time. This is the native format for the TV display. All signals coming into the TV (even the Wii or VCR) are upscaled to this format in order for them to be displayed.

I hope this was helpful, best wishes.

My tv says invalid format when i connect my ps3 using an hdmi cable

Your PS3 is sending a 1080P signal to a TV that can only handle 720P or 1080i. Connect the PS3 using the A/V cables, fix the resolution and then go back to HDMI.

Cannot connect ps3 to tv connected with hdi cable but no response, just saying not supported or no signal

  • Have your ps3 in standby mode (red light).
  • Now, press and hold the power button in the front down. Your ps3 will beep twice. Let it go almost exactly after you heard the second beep.
  • Wait 10-15 seconds. A display will show up, and just answer yes to all!

Problem connecting my PS3 to my Sharp Aquos LC-C3237U LCD TV

Your PS3 set itself above the max resolution your LC-C3237U. Most likely the PS3 is doing 1080P, but the highest the Sharp can do is 1080i. So do this:

1. Connect PS3 to TV (you can use the current cable or analog cable)
2. Turn on TV and set input to port PS3 is on.
3. Make sure PS3 is connected via correct cable.
4. Power on PS3 via power button and HOLD IT for 5 seconds (release after the second beep). It should automatically configure your PS3 to the TV's native resolution for all settings.

PS3 static on screen

It sounds like you're carrying interference to your TV. Try moving you station away from any power source. Make sure your hdmi cable is away from any power as well. This may also be a ground issue. Plug your ps3 power brick into a different outlet.

PS3 not working on 42'' JVC via HDMI cable port

I have the PS3 and this TV and it works....Try this.

1. Turn ON TV
2. Connect HDMI from TV to PS3
3. Select the correct HDMI input on the TV for the PS3(important)
4.Turn OFF PS3 if it is ON.
5. hold [I/O] Power button on PS3
6. Wait about 5 second and you should get the "HDMI Detected" or some similar message.
7. Configure the HDMI output for the PS3

Also, If you set the PS3 to "auto" for hdmi, it may set the resolution to 1080i. You may want to deselect everthing but the 1080P.

My tv shows its's geting 1080i only

1080p signal... THE MITSU. WD-65731 has a resolution of 1080p its just the res your PS3 is pumping into your screen is loaded with a little bit more pixels than you 1080p res MITSU. I suggest getting a MITSU WD-57731 since it has a 1080P/24 input. and has great clarity and HD ample for the BD of your PS3. however the differences in picture rate and quality is very small. goodluck.
