Radio stopped working followed by power locks

Question edited for clarity, 'fuse', unless you light it 'fuze'.Question moved to sub category.

If the radio has an inline fuse, it will be within 82 of the plug at the rear. They are built into the harness. Unlikely because there are three fuses covering audio.

didnjt i see this question a few days ago ,i think they blew a fuse connecting up a secondary power source by the sound of it

The battery light would come on because the engine has stopped running and the alternator is not charging the battery. The steering would get difficult to turn because the engine would not be turning the power steering pump. So those things would be expected.
It sounds like you have a relay that is failing, or you are loosing power from the key switch.

inline fuse may be the problem. pull the radio out and check for power

If the clock will display for a few seconds that means it,(the clock) has power, and perhaps the entire unit. However, if the anti-theft is engaged, a dealer will be in your future. It will take them about a minute to un-lock the radio, or they will know if the radio no longer works.

You could have a short some where in the wiring. If its an aftermarket radio see if you can pull it out and check to be sure all wires are properly done.

If its a stock radio then check the fuse panel!

This is a very common problem with many mid 1990 - 2000 model vehicles. I offer a repair solution that is far cheaper than buying a new clock. Check out www.autoclockrepair.com. I also have the removal instructions there, check it out!

just press the clock button for a few seconds then press it again for few seconds and it should stop blinking once it stops blinking press the clock button down again and hold then once it starts blinking release the clock button and adjust the hours and minutes

The clock unit is just defective and needs replaced. It is pretty common on these 3rd gen (96-02 Runners) -they are not cheap so many folks have just given up on them. T4R.org is a good place to look for one or a local junk yard if you need to replace it. While you have the dash apart for the clock then ...

Your radio issue is likely in the unit itself-and replacing the radio head unit with a more modern unit would likely be around the same cost as any fix of the old unit. Since many car stereo outlets install for free your only limitation is how much you choose to spend or the features needed. I seriously doubt Toyota can fix your light in the old stereo for any less than a new radio itself....but of course call the dealership and ask to be sure before you go spending big money....
