Most likely can replace just the tuner. I will need a model number of the TV first.

My cable box is hooked up but no signal can u tell me whats wrong

If you hookup your TV directly to the coaxial cable, bypassing the cable-box, do you get a few channels? If so, then the coaxial cable is carrying a signal, which is good.

How are you hooking the output from the cable-box to the input(s) on the TV? Coaxial output port on box to coaxial input port on TV?
Red/blue/green "component" outputs on box to matching inputs on TV? Red/White audio outputs on box to red/white inputs on TV? HMDI output from box to HDMI input on TV?

You have to "tell" the TV which of the inputs:
* coaxial (with TV set to Channel 3 or 4)
* component
* HDMI
to "listen" to.

How do you connect a coaxile cable wire to nec plasma tv that has no coaxile connection plug.

You need to have a decoder box from a over-the-air (DTV), cable or satellite provider that has an HDMI, "S" video, composite video, VGA or component video outputs to connect to the TV's input. The coaxial cable only plugs into the decoder box. Apparently your TV doesn't have a tuner for coaxial RF.

Samsung HP-R4272 42" plasma. 3" blue/ green ribbon

This is caused by the LCD panel shifting in it's mounts. You will need to disassemble the frame holding the LCD screen in place and re-center it.
The lines will take some time to go away as the set warms up, but be patient, they usually disappear over time.

For some reason, the component video input on my Sony Wega KE-42TS2U plasma HDTV will not work. Component video is on video 3. All other inputs work fine (coaxial, standard RCA inputs, and the digital...

Yes you need a new Q board most likely, if you audio fails after a while and your other inputs do as well then for sure you need a new Q board. It may be B board but I highly doubt. Atleast with my experiences with the KE-42TS2U.

Where is the cable tv input to screw a normal cable cord into the back of my akai 42 inch plasma screen? Does it have one?

Every T.V. will have a Coaxial input on it. Just keep searching. More than likely if you have all your rca/componet inputs on the back of your t.v, it should be towards the bottom of those, and if not, Not to often, but it could be behind a hidden flap. Read your manual, it will let you know exactly where it is.

Daewoo screen in a samsung

Theoretically yes functionally no. Not unless the parts are the same, chack the model numbers of the plasma screens. If they match you can change them out, if not don't try it.
