After we had a power outage our oven panel read "PF 5Ab". We have not been able to clear it and use the oven. The stove top works just fine but that is it. Normally after a power outage we just press the "stop/clear" button but none of the buttons are doing anything. Our Model is #665.95713300. Thank you for any help on what we need to do or fix!!!
You unit is stuck in the "Display Model Mode". Hold the stop/clear button for at lest five seconds in insure the interlock activates. If it does not activate then the electronic range control (erc) is not functioning. Replace the erc (Clock/Display.)

PF means power failure. This is a loss of power that may be inside the stove or it maybe an issue with the wiring in your house. The biggest threat would be the wiring in your house and you should call an electrician to check the breaker panel and outlet. If it is not that, then you can look for a loose connection inside the stove.
Depending on manufacturer and model, PF can mean a number of things. On my stove, PF simply indicates "Power Fail" Yours may, too. You can clear this generally by updating the clock display. To verify that PF does indeed mean power fail for your stove, simply shut off the power for the cicuit than supplies the stove. This can be either circuit breaker or fuses. Turn the power back on after 5 or more seconds and if it displays PF again, you know it means power fail.
Otherwise, please provide the manufacturer and model of you stove for an answer.
The beeping sound is a warning because the oven is in lock condition. The oven is not faulty, and the code is not 5AB, but SAB.
SAB means that the oven is in Sabbath mode, and the control board will be locked for 72 hours with SAB on display.
If power is disconnected a new 72 hours cycle will start.
Push and hold the Clock button for about 10 seconds, that will reset SAB mode.
If that does not work leave the oven connected and off for 72 hours. If the oven does not unlock after three days, then the electronic control may be stuck in SAB mode because it is faulty, in that case contact the manufacturer at the number listed on the owners manual.
Hi. your assessment is correct. when you have normal operations with the stove top and the control panel is blank or non operational, this will confirm either a wiring harness issue or a dead control circuit board. The wiring harness can sometimes become lose or the connectors can become corroded but, in this issue, i am sure its the ECB(electroninc control board). In this case, you will have to replace the board it self.
"PF" indicates the electronic control detected a Power Failure. This could have been caused a brief power outage OR may be an indication that the connections to the oven, either at the stove or at the plug are loose.
Sears customer care suggests to hold the clock button for 5 sec. But that does not work. After 2 hours on the phone getting the run around and getting disconnected, the only help they can provide is to call a repair guy in for $70 per hour just to diagnose the problem. They will not provide a spec sheet or a manual to determine if I needed a new circuit board at $305.45. I fixed the problem myself by holding down the Timer OFF button for 5 sec. Maybe they should pay me $70. I will be buying a surge protector for the oven outlet. I hope this helps.
I finally found my manual to the range, and to change from celsius to fahrenheit press the BROIL button for 5 seconds. A tone will sound, and the temperature should switch to Fahrenheit.
As far as the code PF 5ab--it could be PF Sab which means the power went out during Sabbath mode. Try pressing and holding TIMER OFF for 5 seconds. If that doesn't work, then open the oven door, press STOP/CLEAR, press both the HOUR "up" and "down" arrow pad at the same time and hold for 5 seconds, "Sab OFF" should appear. Press START to accept the change, then close the oven door.
