You need to hit the 'menu' button.
Then hit the 'forward arrow' button
Then the 'backward' arrow (center big button).
(this will return you to the saved pictures)
From there you will see the 'erase' icon.
Choose frame (individual pictures) or all
frames (all pictures).
Your owners manual could help.

How do you erase all images on a Canon IXUS 1100 HS camera?

If all the pictures are on a memory card, format the memory card. If all the pictures are in the internal memory, remove the memory card (if installed) and format the internal memory.

Formatting wipes out all information from the memory card or internal memory and prepares it for further use. This is better than deleting individual pictures and will help prevent future troubles.

Pc 1108, how to erase individual pics from camera

I don't know what type of camera you have, but perhaps there is a garbage can button which is the delete button. Press it and it will ask if you want to delete this picture. Default setting is No. Press up/down button to say Yes and click OK. It will tell the picture is deleted.

I have a Cannon powershot A3100IS I know how to delete pictures individually, but how do u delete the entire picture card?

If you want to completely erase the memory card, go into the menu and find "format" and follow the on-screen instructions.

I've forgotten how to erase the whole memory card. I can do individual pics but that would take forever.

Format the card to erase it completely. Formatting should be done each time you finish download all your pictures from it, instead of deleting individual pictures.

I have a Canon Power Shot A580 i just want to erase some photos from the camera thats it

Put the camera in picture review mode. Then use the zoom to bring up thumbnail diplays. Use the up/down, right/left buttons to navigate to the individual picture that you want to erase. Then press the "trashcan" button on the back of your camera. Select yes when it asks if you want to delete this picture.

Alternately you can delete all the pictures by again selecting picture review mode, pressing "menu", then scrolling to "erase all" pictures.

Erasing the memory card;

All pictures in the internal memory and/or on the memory card can be erased at once. This is accomplished through either formatting or the "all-frame erase" function. I copied the following instructions from the advanced manual, which can be downloaded here: http://www.olympusamerica.com/files/d545zadvman.pdf. Adobe reader should open that file with no problem. If it doesn't, that's another issue altogether.

1. Enter playback mode by pressing the play button.
2. Press the OK MENU button.
3. Press the right arrow button (next to the lightning bolt) to access [MODE MENU]
4. Then, press the down arrow to access the [MEMORY(CARD)] tab.
5. Select the [ALL ERASE] function.
6. Select Yes and press OK MENU.

(You'll need to use the arrow buttons to navigate the menus. Please see pg 16 of the manual for instructions on how to do so.)

Note: when the memory card is in the camera, it will erase the pictures off the card. When the card is removed, the function above will erase the internal memory.

Canon Rebel XT EOS won't erase pics

If the image has a small icon of a skeleton key along the bottom when viewing it, it means the image has been protected. You have to un-protect the image to erase it. This is done from the Playback Menu (the one with the arrow on the tab). Specific instructions are on page 115 in the manual. (Manual is available here if you don't have it.)

2. Select a picture using the right or left arrow buttons on the back of the camera.
3. Press the button with an icon of a trash can.
4. A menu comes up:

Erase? Erase Cancel

5. Select "Erase", then press "FUNC. SET."
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Page 18 of the Powershot A560 basic manual also explains how to erase individual images.
