Hi Warren, I had a 1995 Elantra and they were very good at reusing their tehnology on all their models. What engine size are you talking about here. Mine was 1600 GLS but there was a 1800 GLS as well. On the Sonata some had bigger engines which may have required stronger starter motors, so please check first.

Hi...electrical problems could be a nightmare and I am not an expert in that side of the field but when things go "koo koo" like that it usually turns out to be one of two things in my experience. (1) Bad Ground...maybe ground terminal is loose on battery, or bad ground wire from engine to chassis. (2) Your computer has lost it's marbles and needs to be reset or replaced. You can try to reset it by disconnecting the ground cable from the battery for at least 15 minutes. You also might want to take it to your local AutoZone store and ask them to check your computer codes...they do not charge a fee for it.

You should check your wheel bearings again and check the front brakes and rotors. Pay close attention to the inner pads and the rotors. You can get a grinding vibration from hard spots in the rotors or the pads and these are often overlooked as a cause. Everyone goes to bearings or trans first, so it is not you everyone does it I've seen it happen for years. But pay close attention to the brakes, worn, hard spots or heat/burn marks all can cause this to happen.

1st) what type of tires do you have on (what make, model ande messure)? I know they came with the car but it sounds more like a problem to be dealed with the tyre manufacturer...
2) what do you use the tires for? do you just drive in the street with them to go to work/school or do you race/autocross with them.? my car has 13000 km and I'm on my 4th set of tires because of autocross. They just won't hold long if you use them like that.
3) please look at your tires and search fot the treadwear, it's a number between 0 and.....400 or so,
regular tires should have about 380 treadwear. the higher the number the more they will last, because the compound is harder, but they won't have good grip. the lower the treadwear the better grip you have and the safer it is to race/drive BUT they won't last for long. the tires my hyundai had when I bought him where some kuhmo kh15 with treadwear 380. regular tires....
