I just had Verizon FIOS installed in my house and when the techs tried to get the remote to talk to my Olevia LCD HDTV 532B12 to work it had two issues. One is the FIOS remote won't turn the Olevia on and off. And the the remote will not control the volume on the Olevia either. The tech told me I just needed to get the remote code. Can you guys tell me what I need to do so the FIOS remote will control all functions on my Olevia.
I just got FIOS and had an Olevia 237 TV. Tried the LG, Phillips, RCA and Yamaha codes, no luck so I tried this:
- press and hold TV key
- still holding TV key, press the OK key and release both, device keys blink
- press 922
- point remote at TV and press play button
- press next button (two arrows pointing to right) about 325 times until the TV goes off.
Remote controls power, volume, input, and aspect.
The code 11610 worked for my tv and Xfinity remote.
Verizon FiOS now has a rev2 on of remotes that now support the Olevia TVs. The new remote manual has several codes for the Olevia line of TVs. You will know you have a rev2 remote if the play/pause button has a line between the two symbols, or by looking in the battery compartment, the label should say rev 2.
I believe if you go through the Verizon FiOS customer service phone service and report that your remote is broken, a new one will be sent out (automated process, no humans involved).
I just got a new box and it came with the new remote, and it works fine on my Olevia TV.
I also have FiOS, and an Olevia 532H and a new 242V. FiOS remotes do not work with the Olevia TVs yet. Now that I have the 242v, I thought I'd look around again, and Googled the solution - someone mentioned a Sony universal learning remote as their solution for $20.
I used the Yamaha code 0030. It will control the On/Off, Volume, and Channel selections, but that's good enough for me.
