My Frigidaire dishwasher will not start.

Hello Marcus, since you have already reset the dishwasher, confirm that the door is properly latched and try selecting a cycle. If resetting the power did not correct the issue, it could potentially mean a number of things: a potential wiring failure, damaged cord, faulty door latch assembly or control board. Because it could be a number of any one of several underlying causes, I would recommend contacting a professional to properly diagnose and repair the appliance. Please read!! This happened to us and we paid money to have repair men come look and they didn't solve the problem. Your door latch is being caught on the bottom of your counter top. Pull your dishwasher out a half an inch and try again. It fixed our problem when we had this happen!

Open the door. Within 3 seconds press the following sequence --Try pressing normal wash, heated dry, normal wash, heated dry, normal wash, heated dry three times within 6 seconds and then press cancel to reset the dishwasher. If that doesn't help then try pressing Saini Rinse, Heated Dry, Saini Rinse, Heated Dry, Saini Rinse, Heated Dry or Saini Rinse, Air Dry, Saini Rinse, Air Dry, Saini Rinse, Air Dry 3 times in 6 seconds and then the Cancel Button. Close the door and press Cancel.
Blinking lights would stop and should be able to use your dishwasher normally. If the light is still blinking try and reset the power to the dishwasher and try again. If still the light is blinking then check for the connections on the keypad, it may be due to moisture or shorted connections on keypad.

Try a reset. I have a kitchenaid. The reset is to press the sani-rinse, hea-dry, sani-rinse, heat -dry, then close the door. You can hear action the dishwasher doing something. Takes about 2-3 minutes, then stops. At this point I was able to select a wash cycle and start, close the door, and it started. Good luck

Is the door open or unlatched?
Make sure the door is completely closed and latched. On models with a dual-digit display, the control displays "- -" during a cycle if it believes the door is not latched. Check for obstructions (spoons, etc), interfering with the door operation. A lower dish rack that is installed backward will also cause incomplete door closure.
Is there power to the dishwasher? Electricaly ground dishwasher. Connect ground wire to green ground connector in terminal box. Do not use an extension cord. Failure to follow these instructions can result in death,fire or electric shock.


Check your household electrical box to see if a fuse has blown or if the circuit breaker has tripped. If the unit has a plug-in power cord, make sure it is plugged in.
Does your dishwasher have a rotary timer knob? (Some Models)
The cycle selection must match the position of the timer knob. Turn the timer knob to the beginning of the preferred cycle. The timer knob should click when you reach the start of the cycle.
Is the control lock option activated?
Press and hold the Heated Dry option (button with lock icon) for five seconds and the light should turn off. Instructions are also placed on the label on top of the inner door to unlock the controls.
Is the delay start option activated?
To cancel the delay and cycle, press Cancel/Drain.
Has the motor stopped for less than 10 minutes?
The motor may have stopped due to an overload. If this is the case, the motor will automatically reset itself within 5-10 minutes.
Is the Start/Resume indicator flashing?
Opening the door or interrupting the power can stop the cycle. Close the door and press Start/Resume. If the Start/Resume indicator flashes three times when you press Start/Resume, the dishwasher is waiting for you to open the door after the last cycle. Open and close the door, and then press Start/Resume.
On models where the controls are on top of the door be sure to close the door within 3 seconds of pressing the Start/Resume to start or resume the dishwasher cycle.
Is the water shutoff valve (if installed) turned on?
Make sure that the water shutoff valve is turned on.
If these tips did not work or your controls are not working correctly you may need to schedule service.

Press and hold the "heat dry" button until the light turns off. It is in lock mode.

check your door lock make sure it has correct voltage and has not been closed indicating that it is locked.other than that replace the control board

The lock only locks the buttons (childproof), hold it 3 seconds and it will go out.

How old is the dishwasher? Check the front control panel for a AIR DRY / HEAT DRY switch. Perhaps the switch is in the AIR DRY position. If so and you really want to HEAT DRY your dishes, set the switch for HEAT DRY. Otherwise: Second, it is not a bad thing to let your dishes AIR DRY. It saves money! Just open the Dish Washer door after the last rinse cycle has finished and let the dishes AIR DRY manually. In a hour or so they can usually be put away. Works for me :)
