Hello, Dennis.

The most common reasons for blank display when there is power on the laptop is the inverter or backlight. The inverter is easier and cheaper to replace than the backlight. If you can see very faint images on your screen, usually the inverter is the problem.

Hope this helps.

My friend karen press the power button, thre is no power... there blinking lights on the back of the computer near the fan power ...

Do you hear the harddrive start up? When you push the power button (or switch on the back) do the lights go out? If you hear fan running and hard drive start up then the computer itself might be on but the monitor isn't. Check the power to the monitor, the connection between monitor and computer to make sure they are all on and connected.

If you don' t hear the fan running then you have other problems. Any blinking lights would indicate something is getting power. I'm assuming the computer was working before the power button was pushed... If the monitor is actually working, you could hook up another monitor to check too then you have other problems but need more info to know what that could be.

would need to know the answer to the above questions as well as if it was working before, what was done, what changed between it working and this problem. Also what age the machine etc.

Trouble see full page websites on netbook

The limitation is your inbuilt LCD screen resolution (1024 X 600) on the Mini 10v.
You could upgrade to a Mini 10 with 10.1 inch HD display (1366x768) WLED but it would be quite expensive.
The simple solution is to use an external monitor.

Hope it helps.

The screen on my HP Pavilion dv 1000 is too dark. The probem extends 2/3's from the left and almost 1/4 of the screen from the left. It's becoming so bad I barely can read the screen. Thre problem seems to...

If turning up the brightness hasn't helped then the lcd is likely going to fail soon.

option 1: hook it up to an external monitor.
option 2: Look for a replacement lcd on e-bay
option 3: Get a new laptop

HP will charge a lot for the display if they even still stock it.

Hope this helps.

Powers up, but screen just black, no display...

If something's broken, thre's some things it can be.
First, try replacing your monitor cable. If that doesn't help, try another monitor. If that's also not working, it will probably beyour graphics card that's broken.
To find out you will need to replace your graphics card with another one, and then try to boot the computer.
Maybe you can replace those parts yourself, or know someone who can. If you don't know what you're doing, then don't do it, and post back here and we'll work out anothr solution.
Anyway, once you've replaced the card boot up the PC. If it's running fine now, you know your graphics card was broken, and you can buy a new one.
If it still doesn't work, your motherboard is broken, and you'll need to buy a new motherboard for your PC.

I hope this fixes your problem,
Yannick.

X2 gen 17" lcd monitor, no display

This indicates either a problem with the monitor cable(ie shorted) or the display adapter. Try plugging the monitor into a different computer and if it works you will need to install a new display adapter in your computer. If it doewn't work on the new one either you can try a different monitor cable if yours isn't permanently connected. Hope this helps
