Best and correct way to wire speakers to amp

Power up the ampwith no speaker connected. If it goes into protect mode, the amp has been damaged.
If it is OK, check your user manual for wiring instructions, loading etc.
Do not allow the speaker wires to touch the car chassis/metalwork!

My stereo in 1997 chevy caviler is turning off and on when turned up to a high volume. I have a sony xplod 52 watt by 4 channel radio. With two 6x9 sony xplod 50 watt rms and 300 watt peak power in the...

Most likely cause is heat. The clearances behind the radio are often not sufficient to provde the proper air coolling that the higher power radios need. The heat sinks on the rear of the radio require a certain amount of air flow to dissipate the heat generated under high load conditions. If you add summer heat to the equation, you can have the radio going into thermal cutout to protect it circuity.

I have a Legacy Predator 2000 watt amp with 2 12'' Kicker speakers. It has been in my car for about a year now, and it recently just stopped working. I have the green light to the amp, im not sure about...

If you have checked your ground, live, remote and RCA's, The problem may lie with your kicker speakers.
There may be a loose wire connection on the speaker terminals (hense no sound).
Check the terminals at the speaker (+) and (-) then check the speaker wires to your amp inputs.
Usually if there is a fault with any wires linked to your amp, the amp goes into protect mode.
If your amp is not going into protect mode, try linking a different speaker to each terminal on your amp (left) then (right). If you get sound through a different speaker, more than likey your speaker wire to your kickers has came loose (due to vibrations) or there is a break in your speaker wire.

Hope this helps. If any more info is needed I'd be happy to help more. Please rate if helpful

WHAT AMP WILL PUSH KICKER SOLO BARICS 15...i HAVE A RF 1501DB AND IT IS NOT THAT GREAT.

Try any decent amp that runs 800-1000 watts RMS/continuous at 4ohms. Hifonics, Kicker, PPI, MTX etc. You should expect to pay $500+ for a decent amp. You get what you pay for.

Amp goes into protection

make sure the impedance is right for the amp you're using. If you're using a 4ohm amp and a 2ohm sud that may be the problem. It may be overdriving the amplifer which is bad and can cause damage to the amp. Hope this helps.

Kicker cvr and ameican legacy 2000 watt monoblock amp. I just need to know if this would hit hard? n if der is anything i need so i wunt damage my 2006 malibu at the same time

The amp, i am not so familiar with, so do your homework...

You want to pay attention to sound quality specs such as signal to noise ratio (the higher the better, like around 100 ) and THD (total harmonic distortion, the lower the better, like between .1% and .001%) If your amp is putting out 2000 watts at a high distortion level such as 1%, you wont be too happy with the quality and you may blow your sub before ever approaching the full 2000 watts.

As fara as your car goes, a heavy duty capacitor would well placed between the battery and the amp, and upgrading the alternator may be considered. If not, you are looking at substantially shortening the life of both your battery and present alternator.

2000 watt legacy predator amp

Disconnect all speaker wires from the amplifier's speaker terminals and disconnect the RCA cables from the amp. If the amp still goes into protect, it probably has shorted output transistors.

Amp not working correctly goes into protection

Disconnect the speaker wires from the amplifier and see if it still goes into protection mode. If it still goes into protect with the speakers disconnected, there's a problem with the amp; if not, you may have a blown speaker or a shorted speaker wire.
