Question about Dell Inspiron 500m Notebook
Here's what I know: the laptop, when it's on, works fine. If you restart the laptop from power on, that also works. When you shut down and leave the laptop for, I dunno, overnight, it won't power.
Take out the main battery and the accessory bay battery, hold down the power button for one minute (I just saw this somewhere), leave the unit for 20 minutes, and then it powers up. So this smells like a capacitance discharge issue, but WHERE??? There's a NiMH CMOS battery hidden behind a panel the main battery bay--could that be it?
Not so much of a capacitance issue as Logic not switching, or stuck in NOT state.
Seem to be Schnitt/Hex inverter/Quad inverter issue. States are going back to original state. This was a major problem on 5150/1150/600m units that I got a hold of.
