The cleaning blade is in the drum cartridge.
There is no developrer change in that product.
There are 2 cartridges.
The toner and drum.
Toner contains all you need as far as ink. And also the waste sump is on the toner cartridge.
The Drum is a self containted unit that has the cleaning blade and auger built in.

No, are three cartridges, toner cartridge, developing unit and drum unit. Read the service manual for this equipment: http://www.tradebit.com/filedetail.php/1...

Take the toner cartridge out and try to turn the Developer roller ( the toner coated roller), if it doesn't turn you have a faulty cartridge. If the cartridge is OK, recheck the Magenta drum to see if the thin corona wire has been broken. You will need to remove the Cyan toners to get to the corona wire cover. If is damaged or broken, the whole drum will have to be replaced.

A print cartridge (or a drum unit if it's separate from toner container) has a thing called wiper blade; it's essentially a rubber (sillicone) strip that wipes any "leftover" toner off the drum. When this strip is positioned wrong or faulty it gives symptoms similar to what you describe.
Sometimes it develops such behavior after long usage (especially if the cartridge was repeatedly refilled with toner), but in rare cases it may come like this new, due to manufacturing defect. I had this a couple of times in my career.
If you take out the cartridge and in subdued light (not to expose the drum to too much light) try to push the gear wheel so that the drum revolves (don't ever touch the shiny drum surface with fingers!) you can look at the drum; if you see toner streaks instead of a clean drum then you need to claim this cartridge as defective with the supplier. You should get a replacement without problems.

I have a message that says "Change PC Drum". What is that?

This is telling you to replace the "DRUM" of the printer. This is different from the "TONER". Normally, the drum is attached to the toner cartridge. Check your printer documentation. You may be able to purchase a drum/toner kit. Drums last longer than Toner cartridges so you will replace the Toner cartridge more often than the Drum.

first of all the drum is inside the machine hidden from customers for reasons such as this. if there is any damage do the drum there will be copy quality issues from there on out. i need the make and model of the machine. and no, you were not supposed to empty that out. in order for a machine to operate correctly there needs to be developer in the machine for the drum to work. developer is a mix of iron particles and toner that will transfer the toner to the drum via electrons and protons. if there is no developer in the machine, it will not attract the toner to the drum, resulting in blank copies. im sorry to tell you but it looks like you pretty much destroyed the development section of the machine and now needs to be replaced by a service technician.

No magenta

It sounds like the problem is either the drum or the megenta developer assembly. The drum is a consumable you can replace. The other usually involves a technician...in other words, very expensive.

Xerox XD130df empties toner back into cartridge overflow

that really sounds like a defective toner cartridge. Either there was no developer in the cartridge or the metering blade that limits the ammount that gets onto the roller is bad.
Has to be the toner cartridge. Unfortunatly that may have also ruined the drum and cleaner within the drum cartridge. Return them for an exchange.
The reason it is running and running is that it is trying to read a patch that is developed on the drum and add toner to make a dark enough copy. And that definatly is not happening.
If the laser was not turning on, the machine would come up with a L something code. Besides if the laser was not comming on, the paged would be blank.
You can pretty much eliminate everything but the toner cartridge.

Sharp copier ar-5316

That unit uses an AR-016TD Toner/Developer Cartridge. The developer is changed each time you replace the toner. To remove the drum unit open the right side cover, then the front cover, remove the TD cartridge, loosen the green screw on the front of the developer unit housing just above the TD slot. carefully remove the DV unit without tipping or you will spill out the existing DV. Then you can pull out the drum unit. There may be a green screw on the drum that must be loosened but I don't think so on that particular model. Installation is the reverse of removal.
