Toshiba Satellite M45-S355 PC notebook modem device says it is working properly, but I keep getting a 678 Error code; the query test means nothing to me; I went out and bought a USB modem, which works, but what could be wrong with the built-in modem, it worked before? Any one know how I could find out the name brand of this modem without opening the laptop; so I could email them?

The 678 error means that the modem is not connecting to the server because of problem at the server end. Contact the helpline of your service provider and ask them to rectify the problem at their end.

My satellite M45 S355 keeps turning off right after it boots. No matter what I do, it immediately turns off. I want to restore it to factory settings, or at least delete all my files so I can get rid of...

If you are not concerned with getting the machine running and just want to get the files removed from the hard drive then I suggest removing the hard drive from the machine and plugging it into a caddy that can be used on another computer to delete the files.

Toshiba m45-s355 reformat from usb

Hi

Thak you for yor query

To ensure the CD/DVD is clean please try booting from a known working PC, from what you are describing it may not be your CD drive

If the same thing happnes on another PC then it is the CD/DVD that is faulty, however if it works, then you can try to hook up a external drive, the laptop may defualt to it after trying all the other options i.e. CD rom drive, HDD etc

I want to connect my toshiba satellite m45-s355 to my tv. i cant seem to find out if it is HDMI compatible.

Your Notebook is NOT HDMI. HDMI is a little slot connector, and is clearly marked as such if the PC has it. Close to the Video out port.

Boot Up problem on a Toshiba Satellite M45-S355

Hi,
Well, since the thread was posted, I've had an M55 come in with almost the same symptoms. I believe, in this case anyway, the video module's solder joints have started to break away from the motherboard. Very frustrating diagnostic on this.
Wish I had more help. I'd be happy to keep you posted on how this one comes out.
Thanks
