I have a Sony 61" XBR rear projection (Model XP-61XBR38). When I turn on the TV it starts to flash on the screen until it warms up and then it flashes only on action (movement) movies or cartoons. The colors are fine and so is the sound. What ca it be?
TATYPLAMER: Try PTS Solutions for the De board. They can either repair yours or perhaps provide you a rebuilt unit.

Power supply . I would check for shorted Horizontal output transistor first then low voltage regulators. You will need some trouble shooting experience and a service manual for sure. The STK chips are under 20 dollar each not too complicated. As far as the not powering up if you have the manual you should be able to get it going. I have alot of experience with Sony. What would be your advise on how too fix the convergence issue on this set?Is it economical to repair myself? I have read a lot of threads on the issue but none discuss my actual set, I know mine is a complected unit, but seems to me if i can find the right ic stk chips , it shouldn't be too big of a deal???? have you had any experience on this unit????jim
