P4VMM2 - what graphic card to use?

I bought a samsung 19inch lcd. And i want to maximize the resolution that can be supported. I am still using the built-in graphic adaptor in my mobo. Can you suggest me what graphic card to use for these instance so that I will no longer be using the graphic adaptor built-in with my mobo? my mobo have 1 agp 4x slot and 3 pci 32-bit slot. thanks all!

moreover, does these bits (say 32-bit, 64-bit and so on) counts? or just the memory? sorry guys, i am don't have much exposure when it comes to hardware...

You should buy the older graphics card not the new model. Your mobo supports only the older graphics card i suppose check it out. The new graphics card now available is for the express slots only this will not be supported, if your mobo does not have the express slot. Check this out before buying the graphics card.

On the other hand you can buy any company's card with the memory you require based on the older cards and newer express slot graphics card.

Kindly POST back with your results.

Any current brand/model of an AGP video card would work with this motherboard (NVidia or ATI). The only limiting factor would be how much you would want to spend for it.

Not a preference but an observation dito sa tin, mas matagal buhay ng ATI compared sa NVidia.

Hope this be of some help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

    Hi again,

Rule of thumb would be go for the highest speed with the highest memory example 256Mb/128bits or what ever it is within reasonable cost. Even if the new AGP video card is rated 8X, it will still work with your MB (4X), it will simply downshift itself.
As earlier stated, go get the highest memory possible (512 or whatever as long as it is AGP). Additionally, go get the highest speed, 128 but should not really matter much since your motherboard will dictate at what speed it will run.

Change the resolution on my Samsung B2030 LCD Monitor

1600X900 is a higher resolution than that of 1280X1024. Therefore 1600X900 is a better resolution. If you would like to run at the lower resolution simply right click your desktop screen and click properties. Then on the settings tab use the slider bar to adjust the resolution. Lower to the left and higher to the right. If the desired resolution is unavailable then you could try downloading and installing the latest drivers for your graphics card installed in your computer.

Your card will either be AMD/ATI Radeon or Nvidia. You will need the model number of the graphics card, the latest drivers may increase resolution support for your card.

Also look on the bottom right hand side of your screen for an Nvidia Control Panel logo in green. Right click it and select the option to "change screen resolution" This may provide you with additional resolution options.

Take care!

I just bought a Samsung LED monitor, BX1931N which supports 1366 x 769. What video card can best support this maximum resolution. I heard NVDIA 6600GT can support this monitor.

Hi. Just about anything that Nvidia or AMD has out will support your monitor. Their graphics cards support many differernt resolutions. The price you pay really depends on what you want to do with the computer. If you just want to do basic things then a low end card would be good for you. If you wanted to do more graphically intense things with your computer then the video cards can get really expensive. I hope you find one that you like.

I have recently bought samsung b2230 lcd monitor . i hoped a good resolution but since the day i bought it i coudnt get the resolution that is specified. i use a pentuim 4 processor with no graphic card ....

Your motherboard does not have much graphics to support the full resolution of LCD Monitor. If you want full resolution then you have to purchase Graphics card for it.

Hi gurmeet,

What I suspected from your description of problem is that there is some kind of compatibility issue or content protection when you plug in an additional HDMI to DVI converter.

I am also using an Airtel HD connection, though however, I wouldn't need any kind of converter because I am directly connecting HDMI cable to my LCD and it works like a wonder. I set up my box output resolution to 1080i and there is no display resolution mismatch. Not even at other resolutions.

Airtel is using 1920x1080 resolution in signal transmission, so the possibility of 1079 from there end is ruled out, otherwise, the same problem would have been observed when direct HDMI cable is being used. I hope you understand my point.

Now you might also ask why you weren't able to see this problem when you connect the monitor to your PC graphics card. I would like to tell you that graphic cards are very versatile and does have the capability of 1:1 pixel mapping, so there you wouldn't see any such problem.

read this link for more , where a person is able to match resolution using a similar converter.

I believe the converter you use isn't able to do 1:1 pixel mapping and is actually downgrading the resolution which your monitor is not able to support.

You can try out other resolution type from the STB and if you still see similar problems, then you may need to get an alternative converter.
Follow these steps to change the STB resolution type;
Enter the Menu from STB remote -> scroll to 'My Settings' -> Enter 'System Setup' -> 'HD Setup'. Here you change to a lower resolution and press ok from remote.

Without graphic card how will i get 1600 x 900 resolution in my LCD ? is there any software for that

you need a graphics card to display images on your monitor. Are you trying to hook up something other then a PC to this?

the 1600X900 is a resolution that the monitor supports depending on the graphics card and or device its connected to. this is not a software thing but rather a hardware device supportive of the resolution format.

thanks if you have any other commetns or questions please ask otherwise please leave your ratings and feedback for your free answer today.

My technika 22'' lcd tv keeps coming up with invalid input when i try to use it as a pc monitor using windows 7

you must adjust the screen resolution on the graphic card to a resolution the tv can support. It is evident that the resolution on the graphics card of your PC is beyond what the TV can display. Thus, you need to adjust the graphics card output resolution and the tv will display the graphics.

New monitor but unable to use its maximum resolution settings

no, there's nothing wrong with either your graphics card & monitor.. it just that your graphics card does not support a 1680x1050 resolution. if you want to fully enjoy the resolution of your monitor, you should upgrade your graphics card. purchase at least 256mb graphics card and you will see the difference..
