I have a ibook g3 clamshell laptop. I am trying to hook up to the internet with my router. The airport reconizes the router and shows excellent signal but will not connect to it. It says Cannot connect to server. I went through the assit me in the utilities but still no help
The G3 iMac clamshell speaks 802.11b wireless signal only. If your router is an 802.11n router, this symptom is known to occur, especially if you have any level of encryption (WEP, WPA, WPA2) on your router signal. Try temporarily turning the encryption off on your router and disabling N mode (set to G mode only) and see if this solves your problem. If so, obviously you don't want to leave your router unencrypted, but you may have to leave it set to G mode as long as you want your clamshell to be able to access it.
