execute a calibration to correct the wrong color:

1. place your photo on the scanner, with a distance of 0.25 inch from the edge of the glass
2. open Epson scan and select Professionnal Mode
3. select the document source
4. select the image type
5. uncheck thumbnail then click Prevew
6. crop the area of the image
7. Click zoom to fine tune the area you see the streaks
8. select the resolution of 72 dpi
9. scan your photo

if the problem still not solved, you need to change the scanner unit , there are many dead pixels.

Hardware failure, nothing much can be done, just replace the scanner.

Try using a separate scanner utility to do yr scans - not ideal but sorted my problem. I use the EPSOM scan utility with a Perfection 2400 scanner.

Turned off scanner. Rebooted computer. Turned on scanner again. Works fine now.

I don't know specifically what the solution is, but I just downloaded the user manual which has been missing and info from it might help. Hi folks. I am the originator and have the solution to the problem. I feel a little stupid because I overlooked using a plastic insert/guide which is placed on the scanner, fitting on notches. It lets the scanner know to use the transparency device and provides a notch for film holder placement. It has been so long time since I used film ever since digital photography took over, I overlooked using this plastic insert. With it placed, I can scan film fine. Thanks

Most likely it is a spec of dust on the scanning sensor.  I recommend cleaning with a soft cloth and isopropyl alcohol.  More info here -  http://www.willshak.com/scanner/

try to fix the usb cable or just replace it and reinstall the drive software disk. bye.

Is this only when you print?
