Is the picture "snowy"?
- I mean is the signal weak?
If so, check your aerial cable has not come loose at the back of the TV.

If you have another TV, or can bnorrow one from a friend/neighbor, plug this into your cable and see if the picture is ok. If so, you have a tuner fault in your TV & will need to call an engineer.
If not, then the fault is with your cable co. or outside aerial, (whichever system you have plugged in there).

VCR has no color picture is clear but black and white

Vee, V, a Vee Cee Rrrrr ? Not a DVD?

If you are playing a VHS tape that should be color content and it's in Black and White ... well you could check the tracking control if there is one on that model. Otherwise it sounds pretty broken. Probably NWR. Not worth repair. Try Cleaning the heads with a cleaning tape???

My Zenith P42W46X 42 inch tv got two black lines vertical lines on the screen the were coming and going away before but they are more stable now.i opened it up and wiggled all the connections arround the...

There are 4 or 5 ribbon cables on the bottom or on one side, they control part of the plasma screen. Check the ribbon cable near the black lines. Unplug the ribbon cable and look for black chips on the underside of it, I think they say 100 on them, you need to resolder both ends on each chip. Should fix the black line issue.

if the lines covered the entiire screen, fist I would check to see if the TV's menu can be seen. If not then check the buffer boards. Next I would check the logic board

Some of these have a 4 pin test on the control board that you can jump with solder to get test pattern. If you get it to do that then these boards maybe good and would replace the control board. if nothing happens, then
the upper & lower drive also the Ysus and Zsus boards all at the same time.
last could be a defective panel.
hope this helps. p/n are on all the boards.

Plasma Screen not working only sound

It might be one of the power supplies. There are three in this model. One for the sound, one for the video, and one for the computer components. The video power supply is probably shot. They cost about $200 a peice from LG. If there was a "pop" sound when the video stoped, then it might be one of the circuit boards in the back. Yet again, they are three, each costing around $200 from LG.

P42W46X Zenith Plasma - No Picture - Mostly Yellow on screen

Mine looks like too, but the line running across isn't on my set, picture looks like this, and the sound works fine. I took the tuner board all the way out and turned the set on and it did the same thing, then I unplugged the top wire on the board next to the tuner board and the screen went black. plugged it back in and the screen came back with the scrambled picture. Anyone know why? Bad mainboard maybe? the left of the tuner board?
