I have a 550 series plasma Samsung Tv 54''.. I cannot get the picture to pick up for example the football score at the top of the screen, nor the NASCAR readout at the top. I get a piece of it but can't seem to get the picture to pick it all up. I went to the tv menu and set tv at standard and went down to picture size and set at 16/9 and then tried all the others and none would give me full picture. Alvis

The problem may be not in your TV but in your receiver, if you use a cable or satellite receiver. Sometimes those also have similar settings for picture mode - it's rare, but I've seen it.

If not, then it must be tv's zoom mode is just set to something other than "standard".

When we watch tv, particularly football, on our lg 50pq30, the tv cuts off the image so we can not see the score at the top or bottom of the screen regardless of which setting we chose

Hello: Seem you are in zoom mode, try hitting the format putton on the televisions remote and if you are using a cable box and using HD check for a picture format or aspect button on it also. You will want to be on 1080i normal or stretched. The cable box and television will use different modes for aspect, try using only one of the remotes when changing aspect ratio buttons or screen size.

Picture doesn't fit on my Samsung HDTV

after searching around on both remotes for me...im with verizon. Using my verizon remote under... settings-video settings-sd override...then into stretch mode fixes problem! Hope this helps anyone else with same problem!

I had the same problem. My cable company told me to press the # button on my remote to change it from "zoom" to "normal" and it solved the problem.
