When we turn on our Samsung TXM3296HF television there is snapping noise, but no picture, only a black screen. This first happened one day when the TV was on. While watching the picture folded in horizontally. This was different from when one turns the TV off and sees the picture fold vertically. Do you have any suggestions on a fix?

Sounds like the X-Main bd has a problem. It provides the illumination drive signal to the Panel. It can also be the Main bd. Have a trained Samsung tech troubleshoot the set.
Does anyone know where i could get a LVDs cable for a samsung 42 inch tv searched everywhere and cant find one the model number is PS42D5s thanks in advance
If it is only 6 months old you probably still have a warranty. This is definitely a hardware issue, and unless you are comfortable taking your new TV apart, I would contact Samsung for repair.
