Hi,

After cancelling the data plan with the wireless service provider, the message Data connection refused appears at the top of the Home screen on the BlackBerry smartphone instead of the branding of the wireless service provider.

This is caused may be you were previously subscribed to a data plan through a wireless service provider, and the BlackBerry smartphone is still configured to attempt to access the data network.

To resolve this issue, you need to turn off the Data Services feature on the BlackBerry smartphone. To perform this, you need to complete the following steps:

  1. From the Home screen, open the Options menu.
  2. Click on Mobile Network or Network.
  3. Set the value of the Data Services field to Off.
  4. Open the menu and select Save.
  5. Return to the Home screen.
  6. Turn the wireless transceiver off and then on again.
To enable (turn on) the wireless transceiver on the BlackBerry device, go to the Home screen and select the Turn Wireless On icon or open Manage Connections and select the wireless connection to be enabled. Once enabled, the icon will display Turn Wireless Off .

To disable (turn off) the wireless transceiver, go to the Home screen and select the Turn Wireless Off icon or open Manage Connections and select the wireless connect to be disabled. Once disabled, the icon will display Turn Wireless On.

I Hope it helped you.

Thank you for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

I have a cricket fashed blackberry 7130e it always says data connection refused on the screen. can it be fixed?

I have a flashed Blackberry 8330 for Cricket. I know to get the phone and SMS working is pretty easy. There is a second more complicated step to get the data working. I flashed my phone myself, but I couldn't find the solution for the data.

Data connection refused

data connection refused has to do with you having an actual data account for your blackberry.
if you don;t have a blackberry enterprise account you can't use blackberry browser. download opera or safari browser for your mobile.

No internet

data connection refused means you do not have data from your carrier, i have an 8320 which is wifi as well, but when i use my spare 8320 just for wifi many sites will not load due to not having a working simcard in the phone. when you phone says "EDGE", "GPRS" or "GSM" are they lowercase or upper case.

Black Berry 8100 Blue Tooth Didnt Recive any Data

Blackberries have stronger security than most phones. They can usually only be used to send data to another phone. Or to connect to a blutooth headset.
