Sharp AQUOS 52" Flat-Panel LCD HDTV Logo
Anonymous Posted on Nov 17, 2009

Just cracked the 52 LCD screen playing with WI. The screen itself is not broken but the indent has messed up 1/2 the TV screen. Half the screen is like a big rainbow hundred color pixel lines and the other half shows a picture. The TV when turned on will stay on for about 20 seconds then turn itself off. I think a replacement is the only answer. Help

Sorry "wii" damage like that will run to much, look for other units on ebay with the screen intact and that would save some cash

Buy a new tv.The tv u have now,the LCD screen panel it internal screen membrain is broken. The tv,u have now, dosen't worth a whole tv anymore.Tv only now, worth as only as a salvages tv for it electronic boards for parts, that it.The LCD screens panels are 90% important to the LCD tvs, when, that damages or broken. The tvs doesn't worth it to replaced it LCD or Plasma screens, because tvs screens panels are limited produced by the tvs industries,u will not able to buy it anywhere, but the tvs industries themselves. They'll sell it to u,but the same priced as a new tv.

I have a 52" Toshiba

in general cracked lcd panels cost more than the tv is worth.. depending on model panel replacment run 1500 to 2000.. and physical damage is not a warrenty item. do you have a toshiba or a rca the decription says you have rca r52wm24 which is not a lcd. that is a tube tv. and if it is cracked that definatly can be fix or replaced cost effective.

Cracked screen on sony brava 52"

Sorry, but forget it.

If the screen has cracked then you've broken the single most expensive component in your tv. When you bought it you basically bought the screen at a bulk discount price and the casing, electronics and all other components came for free.

Buying the screen separately will usually cost far more than buying the entire tv and then you still have to add on the labour charges to fit it as it's not a DIY job.

Broken LCD

I have a 52" Samsung Series 5/ 530 Model LCD Flat Panel and I cracked the screen. The screen on the outside is not broke nor scratched but something hit it and now when I turn the tv on- it looks like i hit it with a hammer. How is this fixed? Can I do it myself?

Cracked screen

The LCD screen itself often cost more then the tv set itself. If you have accidental insurance you might see if they cover this, otherwise this will make a nice lava lamp like art display for a bedroom wall.......

I have 2 flat panel TV's that don't work, one plasma, one lcd

Michael, my suggestion is that both units be scrapped. The plasma panel is broken the Dell and not cost effective to repair. If the inverter bds are missing in the Sharp, they were most pulled because the Sharp has a bad LCD panel. Not cost effective to fix either unit.
