My xbox 360 plays games as dvds!?

1. all the disc are not region free , games from microsoft are region free, which means u can play in any kind xbox 360

xbox has different version like (ntsc, pal), some countries only accept ntsc some pal.

u can find it on right hand side of the dvd
if it is pal u can play omly pal dvds

u can also modify ur xbox360 this u cannot do by our own, once u modify u can put both version of dvds

every DVD drive is "married" to the motherboard. They both have a special key that keeps them together. Without that key the motherboard will not accept the DVD drive and it won't be able to play games ever again. You can extract the key from you old DVD drive and "spoof" it to the new one. That's the only way it'll work.

your dvd drive is faulty this is either the laser or the complete drive you will have to open your 360 to find the make and model of your dvd and either replace the laser (available from ebay) or the whole dvd drive but the curcuit board on the dvd drive is coded to the xbox it is fitted to you will have to obtain a dvd drive the same make and model as the faulty one and swap circuit boards for it to work.

Make sure discs are not scratched. Try cleaning the discs using rubbing alcohol and a soft cloth.

this usually happens to bad/damaged/dirty game disks. try cleaning the disks. if that doesn't work, contact microsoft via xbox.com/support.

best thing to do is send it back in to microsoft, if you open the xbox 360 case you will void the warranty, and they wont bother helping you. If you have already voided the warranty, you can find xbox 360 dvd drives on ebay or craigslist for around 30$ USD. Only the drive alone, not a whole xbox

you probably didn't flash the drive correctly. you can find guids how to online. its a pretty in depth process though.
