Simultaneously press the [CHANNEL UP] and [CHANNEL DOWN] buttons on the front of the DVD Recorder for approximately 10 - 15 seconds (until the unit powers off).
Disconnect the wall outlet. Wait for 10 minutes. Then power up.
you either have a faulty power supply or faulty main board. Vizio power supplies on the older sets are pretty decent. It's usually the main boards that go. These older main boards tend to be pricey so it may be better to buy a new set.
Hi Friend,
As you have mentioned that your system goes off after 5-10 seconds and turns on again. I would recommend you to please unplug all the cables from the desktop and press and hold the power button of the system for 30 seconds, release it after 30 seconds and make the connections again.
Start your system again and check if your issue is fixed or not.
Also I would like you to check after turning on the system do you get any beeps from the system after which it goes off
Hello, my name is Becki Barned, with Dish Network customer service. After reviewing your blog, there are a few things that could cause this. One thing that could cause this is, a corrupted hard drive. If this happens on only 1 or 2 recordings, delete those recordings, then try again. If this is constantly happening, it may definitely be the hard drive. Try to unplug the receiver from the power source for 10 seconds, and letting it reboot. If that doesn't resolve it, or you have any other questions, blog back, or you can find us on Twitter!
Hi. Try to remove the battery, unplug the ac adapter and press/hold the power button for 10 seconds then plug the ac adapter in. do not put thebattery back in yet. turn the computer on and see what will happen.
If nothing happens, your motherboard needs to be replaced.
This model seems to have myriad problems and I suspect that it was made in China since the VCR market is fading quickly.
If you manage to find warranty info, I'm sure it will require a receipt and probably was only warranted for 90 days as is common with all of our junk consumer stuff these days.
The RCA that built that machine isn't the one we remember.
I'm sorry for us all-
Fixed mine by opening up and replacing ide cable to the DVD burner. Was flashing hello. When opened up and touched the ide cable it would spin up the drive for a second. Its possible it was loose connection to the power plug in the drive but replaced ide cable just in case. Has been working perfect since. Very roomy inside and easy to do.
