Question about Panasonic PT-47WX53 47" Rear Projection HDTV

Panasonic PT53TW53 53in

The two convergance ICs IC7001 and IC7002 have been changed to correct a convergence problem. The TV worked fine for a while but the screen collapsed to faint red, blue and green vertical lines in the center of the screen. I have an after market service manual. The main B+ voltages are there just a little low. Probing with a scope I don't have a waveform on A3 pin 11 (FBP to CONV). I am not sure what this signal is. Do you have any suggestions that I can try?

Do you know if the replacement convergence ic's where sanyo or panasonic originals? If they wher generic cheap aftemarket replacements that is your problem.

Television has double images like 3D, and bottom half of screen has a concaved image.

Please replace convergence ICs in tv, there are two big black ICs that has number STK392-110 mounted with big aluminum heat sink, replacement these ICs will solve your tv problem. Also check big resistor nearby these convergence ICs and replace if found burn mark or color faded.
On circuit board, IC location number is IC7001 and IC7002

I would initially suspect IC7001 and/or IC7002 on the D board. Those are your convergence output IC's. Those tend to fail after 5-10 years of typical use. Part# STK392-150 is available as a direct drop-in replacement part and repeat failures are almost unheard of. Also, check the low-ohm feedback resistors around these chips. R7011, 7012, 7013, 7014, 7015 and R7016 should all be 2.2 ohms @ 2 watts. If you have a shop do this, the typical price including travel and house call is $300-400. Parts alone are about $50, give or take.

Several things could be causing the problem and without some trace testing it would be hard to determine exactly where the fault is... Could be convergence amps Ic7001 and Ic7002 are very common failures in this unit along with one or more 2.2 ohm resistors in the return R70xx check them all to be sure.
Could be vertical circuit - or esr C524 in the feed for the vertical.
Could check R867, R858 & R860 near the regulator circuit. But my first guess in all this would be the convergence amps.
BTW - this is a P7 chassis and uses two STK392-110 Sanyo amps. If bad replace them with STK392-150's or 180's for greater reliability.. And don't buy the chineese knock-offs.

Replace Ic7001 and Ic7002 the convergence amps in this unit. Both are STK392-110 Sanyo built Ic's and fairly inexpensive. If you're not at all sure how to replace these take it to a qualified shop. And when you're calling around shopping ask what they charge to replace the convergence amps in these units.
Also take the unit to them rather than pay the pickup and delivery charge, that will save a few bucks.
Have a great day!

It sounds like your may need to replaced your convergence ic's loc# ic7001 and ic7002 stk392-110. That should take care of your alignment problem.

The convergence amps have most likely failed. Your set takes two STK392-110 Sanyo built Ics, Pansonic p/n# C5aa00000203.
They're located at board positions Ic7001 and Ic7002 respectively. In addition, you will need to test all the low ohm yoke return resistors in that circuit for change in value and replace any that don't meter correctly.
In the shop this is a relitively modest job with the most of the cost going to labor. I suggest, if you're going to have a shop do it call around and ask what they charge for changing the convergence amps and take the unit to them to save the pickup and delivery charges.
Good Luck!

You need to change the convergence ic's IC7001,IC7002 = part# STK392-110. Also check for any burnt or discolored resistors nearby. (about a $350 - $500 repair)

If it's really bad and happened all at once, your convergence amps have failed would need to be replaced before you could correct the issue with an adjustment.

One color distorted and not converged

Not an expensive repair, relitively speaking. Both convergence amps need to be replaced, Ic7001 and Ic7002 ( Panasonic p/n# C5aa00000203) are both Stk392-110 Sanyo built Ic's and cost about 25-30 dollars plus labor to install and a slight convergence set-up...
