Question about SanDisk 2GB Cruzer Micro SDCZ62048A10 Hard Drive

Cruzer and disconnecting

Everytime I disconnect my cruzer (I wait for the light to go off after ejecting), it dosconnects me from my wireless connection.

I use XP. Any ideas??

Don't do the full eject. just remove it from the USB port.

Just to update this. We are using an internet wireless card not an external and we are using a wireless mouse. We actually switched ports and it is working fine for now. I am not sure why but maybe it is a port specific problem.

This problem happens when we eject the flash as we are told to do before we remove it. Once it is removed, the problem WAS occurring.

Thank you all for your help so far, any other ideas would be welcome.

Why disconnect the cruzer. Just close out of the cruzer and pull it out of the port. Is that what you are doing?

My computer prompted me that the sandisk cruzer flashdrive is ready to be removed but the light is flashing can I still remove it or do I wait until the light stops flashing?

i would wait till it stops flashing always. if the light is on, there is power going out to the drive that is being used. this alone can be damaging to the drive if removed then.

I need step by step directions, please. It seems as simple as plug it in and its done, but I've got to go to "my computer" etc, etc, and I just need to be walked through it once Thank you

I can help you with your Sandisk Cruzer USB drive problem.

Sandisk Cruzer's are fairly unique in so far as they don't just appear in your My Computer window the way that every other USB drive I've ever used does.

Instead, Sandisk Cruzer's use a terribly 'helpful' piece of software that takes time to load every time you plug it in.

Here are the steps:
  1. Plug in your Sandisk Cruzer USB drive.
  2. Sit back and wait. Don't touch anything.
  3. If it is connected properly, the 'slide' bit will light up orange, at first flashing, eventually solid.
  4. When the orange Sandisk logo appears on your desktop, the drive is ready to use.
  5. Clicking on the Sandisk logo will bring up a menu.
  6. Click the 'Explore Drive' option to bring up a windows explorer screen of the USB drive.
  7. When you are done with the Cruzer, return to the Sandisk Menu App and select 'Eject' to prepare the USB drive for removal. (Just pulling it out without 'ejecting' it will destroy all your data 1 time out of 50 or 100, so always use the eject feature.)

Hardware installation not success , while inserting the Sandissk Cruzer Blade pendrive.

How's it going? The Sandisc Cruzer is a nice pendrive. Try this. On your computer, Turn off all "auto run" & save any files from the cruzer you want. click start>computer, Insert the cruzer in a usb drive. Watch the screen & see what drive it installs in. Let it complete this process. Right click on the cruzer, Go down & click on "properties." Click on tools>error checking. scan for errors. When done, click, okay. Right click on cruzer again & click, format. This will delete any files you have in there that's why we saved files earlier, right? Formatting will Right any Wrong so to speak & get your cruzer for use. When you download, download to your computer, Save it. You could scan it for viruses etc at this point. Then you got three choices, You can send it to cruzer,(right click on the file & go down to send, & sent it to the drive cruzer is in.) or, you could, "copy & Paste," it on over to cruzer. And last but not least, you could, "drag" it on over to cruzer. Once you got it over there & you are ready to leave. Right click on cruzer, go down to, "eject," or, "remove." & wait until cruzer tells you it's okay to safe to remove. This is most important because if you just yank it out, you could be ruining some files on the cruz-miester. So try this & Good Luck! BRUTUS X

I am having trouble loading pictures to my cruzer it keeps telling me that the directory or file cannot be created and gives me this number 0x80070052 this is the first time I have had problems with it....

plug into you have files on the cruzer? try disconnecting using the safety on the bottom task unplug the cruzer and plug it back you see the files?...yes

if there is no files on the cruzer format it and get in the habit of disconnecting using the safety way

Any time i try to eject a combo comes up with the message that the flash drive has a program running even though all file are closed. how do i get arround the problem.

Cruzer's run a program when they install and should appear on the screen as a red Cruzer icon. If you click on this when you want to remove the you can then select the Eject tab on the bottom of the Cruzer popup. Use this rather than the windows eject which does not work too well.

Ejection problem

this happens when there is virus in your cruzer. copy all the required data to your computer, then format the cruzer. and the copy these files to it, your problem will surely get resolved... thank you. plz rate me...

When I plug in my sandisk u3 titanium 2G cruzer on mac I only get u3system icon - the cruzer icon does not show up

How do I get the sandisk cruzer 2.0 titanium to show up on desktop - only u3 system shows.

Yes, it did work prior on my old emac with Panther macosx v10.3.9 and on a new imac. Sometimes it would eject fine and other times after I ejected it and after the icon disappeared, - It would bring up an error message that it was ejected wrong and might have problems.
That is what it said yesterday and when I tried to use it again - The only icon that shows up is the u3 system.

Hi there. Don't think the cruzer has to do with the problem. You should have disconnect the device after finishing the job, many people disconnect the device directly without click on the icon showing the device was connected and then shut the device before doing the disconnect. To know what has caused the blocking, you have to go to "event viewer", under control panel -> admin tools and find out there what really happened. To do this first of all yo have to log as administrator, let's do it! Start your laptop, and just after wellcome screen press F8 before "Windows XP" shows it's loading. If you have been quick enough a menu will show up. Well done! Choose "safe mode" to load, you will be carried to a logging screen. Log as administrator, and then go to event viewer as I said. Look there if a program caused the issue (I've seen it many times) and then uninstall it (you always can load it later, do you?). If you have done all of this you can try now exit and log back normally. 2 possibilities: - All went fine. Cool! Stop reading, we're over. - Nope, still blocked. Go to safe mode again and create a second account to log in with admin permission. Microsoft knowledge base will instruct you to do so if you have any doubts, but it's quite easy. If finally you can log in with the new profile, then there's a way to copy data from a corrupted profile to the new one like nothing would have happened. In the knowledge base the doc id is 811151, or look for "how to copy data from a corrupt profile". The doc id sent is in spanish probably (which makes sense since I'm spaniard :-), not sure, but I'm sure you will not have problems to find the right doc in english. If all all this fails :-(, I'd suggest post the problem you've got on event viewer, this will lead to the solution almost for sure (Microsoft is not very good OS in my opinion, and prob log/debugging is not well developed, so can't be sure.)
