Question about Acer Aspire™ T180 PC Desktop
My Acer T180 has all of a sudden stopped booting up. Every time I switch it on all that happens is the ACER start screen appears. I am given the option to press DEL to Enter Setup or F12 for Boot Menu, but when I press either button nothing happens.
Any advice on what the problem maybe will be greatfully received.
I have the same model and had the same problem. Fortunately there is a simple fix - unplug all your USB devices (mouses, printers etc). It should now boot!
Assuming that fixed it, it was trying to boot from a USB drive for some unknown reason. I think it was due to the latest windows XP update. Wierd. Hit F12 next time you reboot and make sure it is booting from hard disk first.

I had the same problem as above. I tried disconnecting everything one by one till I got the the front panel connector (2 USB and Audio sockets at the front). The machine booted with it disconnected. I reconnected and tried again, and it worked. Still working as we speak. Dunno if this is the ultimate solution but give it a go!!

we had the same problem and our acer was just out of warranty..... I had this on an older comp and found that a virus had hit the ram and would stop the comp from loading up... I have had to reinstall windows xp and all the settings if possible take the hard drive out and have it checked (a decent local pc repair shop will help) try your back up disc or get your local pc shop to reinstall the factory setting ( you`ll need to make sure you have your windows serial number still attached to the side of the case.) cost around £40 .

Yea, If you get stuck at the ACER screen then you defiantially arent getting far enough to get to the windows boot menu. DEL or F12 should allow you to access your BIOS settings. You want hit f12 / del while at the black screen / acer screen. This should UNCONDITIONALLY take you to the bios screen. If it does not, you might be correct in your last assumption
Hope this helps!
