Roper washing machine

The lid switch has gone out and I can replace it myself but I need to know what all i have to take off to get to it?

It depends on your model but either way there are two screws in the front or back of your control panel back them out far as you can pull the control panel slightly forward and tilt it back then you will see two gold clips on the washer body pay attention how they go in there pop them out with a screw driver tilt the washer forward have someone hold it should be able to look underneath and get to the switch

If it were me, I'd first go to "Sears parts" and find the model number and part number of the part you need on their free diagram.
Then, I'd got to e-bay and type in that part number and see what that part would cost. I have often done this myself.

My roper washing machine will not empy out or spin. It agitates alright but stops when it comes to emptying the water and going into the spin cycle.
If the motor isn't running, the lid switch may be defective. If so, the washing machine can't spin and may not function at all. The switch is inside the washing machine main housing near the door frame. Often you have to raise or open the top or front of the washing machine to get to the switch. If it's defective, you need to replace it.
Replace the lid switch with this part.

it sounds like the lid switch, get ur model number and purchse one online at repairclinic, or sear, or locally.. hope this helps, i think ur on the rite track bukaroo let me know how it goes

Wont rinse or spin
Hi,
This machine has a safety feature built in that will often cause this problem.
When it is in spin cycle and you open the lid, it automatically shuts down.
A switch is triggered by the lid when it is opened. This switch has gone bad and needs to be replaced.
The switch is located below the top cover of the machine where the little hole is in the lid opening jam.

Roper Washer Wont Spin Out
Probably a bad lid switch. Open the control panel. Disconnect the lid switch wire connector on top of the cabinet under the control panel. Make a small insulated jumper wire and insert it into the wire that is still connected to the control panel. Set the timer to spin. If it spins replace the lid switch in the cabinet. If not, replace the timer.

How do I replace the lid switch on my waher it's a Roper
buy a replacement switch and the top lifts off from the front.  It could be the switch has only come loose or the probe on the lid has broken off.
